“very central, but basic location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

It is a very good location - on the pedestrian street, closed to the centre of Lisbon, where there are a lot of small terraces with very good services and not very expensive, disco, Fado restaurants, lot of shops, underground, tram, busses. Very closed from Praca do Commercio - from where you cam take a bus to Jeronimos and Belem Tower, but also to Cascais, Estoril.
Basic hotel / hostel. If you are interested in central location - just for sleeping - and not too squeamish: get it! If you want to stay in room : don't book this location.
Poor (basic) breakfast, small elevator, not working all the time, small room, small old bathroom (I took a room with en-suite bathroom), but it has warm water.
Not good for people travelling by car (no parking closed).

Room Tip: room with en-suite bathroom

“Good if you just need a place to sleep”

This was a good value for what we needed- a room with three beds in an excellent location. We were in Lisboa for just one night, and this worked out well. The location couldn't be better, it's in the center of everything, but also very safe, and it's within walking distance to the Bairro Alto, which was where we planned on spending our evening. The room did have a slight stale smoke smell to it, and it is outdated, with tacky furnishings, but the beds were comfortable, and the sheets and carpets were clean. Our triple room had a bathroom, which was just fine, and very clean- I know a lot of the other rooms had to share bathrooms. And a bonus was that we had two balconies overlooking Rua Vittoria- that was fantastic. The elevator is really old, and one annoyance is that if a guest doesn't close the door (as evidently tends to happen on the 3rd floor) the elevator gets stuck. They should fix that- walking five flights up and down wasn't fun. We didn't try the breakfast because we left before it started (8-10 AM). Staff wasn't overly friendly, but honestly, for the price and the location, we didn't care. I saw that some people complained about the mattresses- every one of us remarked in the morning how comfortable the mattresses were- maybe that was just our room 402, but we were very well rested. It came to $44 per person for the night, and for the location, that just can't be beat.

Room Tip: Room 402 was great- you can't open the door all the way because they've added a third bed, b...

“there are better places to stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

We stayed there only 3 days and it was a package deal with Mr. Jet. We payed extra 75Eur to have the toilette in the room, though we passed the common toillette and it seemed nice, but to get out of the room in the middle of the night and go out to pee, I felle I'm too pld for that:) Plus you can get good deals on normal hotels, they are not that expencive in Lissabon so no need to go to this hotel. Do hop-on-hop-off tour, but don't actually hop-off in our case it showed you can never hop-on again:) and off season the busses do not operate for long!
The best shopping and eating center is Colombo - the whole day wondering and very good food! We tried Indian and sushi essambly line or "flying sushi" as I call them it was fun and the food is priced good and tastes fantastik!!!! Will defenetly go back to Lissabon!

“Lisboa - the prettiest European capital by far”

Our first impressions were not good, we arrived at our room and the room had not been cleaned since the last people slept there. Having said that we informed reception and they were prepared to give us another room for the night or a room at another local hotel. We decided to stay in the cheaper room and actually kept the room for the whole time we stayed at the hotel. Our room had a shower, but the reason we decided to keep it was the little balcony which overlooked the main high street in Lisbon. Every morning we were woken by beautiful music from street singers and we could hear the hussle and bussle, at night it was simply stunning.

The hotel is fine for a few nights, the rooms are small but cleaned daily, the breakfast is poor but there are so many cafes close which sell pastries for very little really there is no need to have breakfast at the hotel. The location is perfect the hotel is close to everything shop, restaurants, cafes, bars and the main tourist attractions. The hotel was very good value for money.

Room Tip: If you don't want to share your toilet / shower with others make sure you choose the appropriate...

“Great location - great value”

I have stayed in a few places in Lisbon, but this was one of the best quality-price-location places I've stayed. Truly downtown, it's right in the heart of Lisbon and has very affordable prices.
The rooms are clean and the shared bathrooms as well.
