We first spent a few nights at Pensao Royal just one floor down from Galicia. We had not booked in advance our last night in Portugal, and Royal was full. Royal's people suggested that we ask Galicia for a room, and they had many available even though it was mid-July and we we're asking for a room only some 5-7 days in advance.
The elderly people at Galicia do not speak very good english (the old gentleman basically not at all), but things worked our, and we (2 persons) stayed 1 night in a lovely but a bit strange room (shower in the corner of the room) for only 40 euros.
