In the summer of 2010 (I marked it as Nov. 2010 because that is the earliest I could go) three girls in our twenties (including myself) travelled to Portugal for a little over 3 weeks. We spent a good 10 days in Lisbon. We stayed at Hotel Turim. It was attractive to us as the price was very reasonable, it had good reviews and the location was quiet and near the metro. Of course we were nervous because doing everything online, you never know what you will get!
And it was exactly as we had hoped. The hotel and rooms were clean, the location was great and the staff... what can I say about the staff, they were so helpful, friendly and accomodating! The room was a bit small, but we were 3 people haha. We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, we pretty much just slept there. It was very easy for us to go back and forth into the city or wherever and come back to the hotel to shower, nap and change and then go back out at night. It was central (in terms of the metro) so it didn't take us long to get anywhere! The staff was amazing in helping us figure out where we want to go, to eat or shop and even bars at night. They told us the neighbourhoods we should avoid and they helped us get safe taxis for the night time.
I honestly recommend this hotel to travellers who want a clean place, on a budget, and don't expect a big lavish room. I loved it and would come back if I was travelling with friends again! (it's a bit small for a family)
