I had a bit trouble finding the place since it is not marked very visible, so i got to know the neighbourhood :) . Very central oriented, nice rooms but could use a bit cleaning up, nice view from my balcony, poor breakfast, had trouble sleeping since my room was near receptions and people were coming in and out all the time, and the walls are not very thick...but for 30 euro per night good value since in 5 min you are in the city center, and the pensao is in a nice old neighbourhood.

Good location, well connected with public transport, good view, good price and clean.

Pensoa Londres reminds me a bit of Fawlty Towers - some building works going on when I arrived which means there were no stairs between Reception (2nd floor) and my room (1st floor), but at least the lift was working.

The rooms are clean and comfortable and a little quirky! Sound proofing wouldn't be great, but I did have a balcony overlooking Rua Dom Pedro and could make out the Castle in the distance. This is a great value budget hotel in a fantastic location - around the corner from great restaurants and bars, amazing trams and I would definitely go back again.

Hotel is located up a steep flight of marble steps which would not be suitable for anybody with mobility issues - in fact, Lisbon is one of the hilliest cities I've visited, but the public transport system is excellent and cheap.

Hotel advertises free wi-fi in public areas - it's not - it's a laptop in a small room beside the breakfast room.

Breakfast - croissant and tea or coffee with fruit juice. Adequate.

Staff - friendly, helpful, fantastic English.

If you like creature comforts and luxury, this is not for you. If you are interested in value for money in an excellent location, and don't mind mis-matching things, then it's worth a try.

I travelled solo and felt wonderfully safe in Lisbon.

We stayed 3 nights in this oldish hotel which was well-located near some great restaurants, bars, boutique shops. In the Bairro Alto it is in the high part of the city and our 4th floor room overlooking the city gave us great views. The room was comfortable, though small and the focus on security was reassuring.
We found the breakfast dull and repetitive and the staff serving it very off-hand and uninterested - they certainly gave the impression that they would prefer to be somewhere else. By contrast, the office staff were helpful & efficient.
On balance, the location and price still made this a good place to stay in Lisbon.
