“Very good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

My favorite part is the staff--there is always someone at the front desk 24/7 and they were, each of them, kind, helpful and patient. All spoke English well. As this was our first time in Lisbon, we had lots of questions. Good wifi, nice hospitality, clean sheets, and big rooms are the high points. Low points are it's not new and updated (got the feeling about 30 years ago it was an elegant 2 star), even to the point too worn. But, has a nice, funky, comfortable feeling like you are staying at a friend's grandparents' house. Family run operation. Anything we asked for they responded immediately. We were there for 6 nights. Absolutely would stay again because of the excellent price, nice staff, and decent accommodations/location.

“Great Place to Stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

I stayed there in Dec 2010 and went back there with two of my friends in April 2011. It is really a wonderful budget hotel. You might find your room a bit untidy when you arrive there, but if you ask them to clean the room you'll definitely get a good service. Free Wi-Fi for all our laptops, good breakfast, and the gothic architecture of the place were also nice. You can check it with them when you go there, but they used to serve halal ham, and this was good for us and all other muslim guests staying there. Friendly and helpful staff can always help you if you need some help or advice for directions. It is also very close to the New University of Lisbon, which is good for those who are on a sort of academic business. It's also very close to a good shopping centre, and is just a few minutes walk to the undergroud station. It might be very difficult to find the place, or may look slightly mysterious and dull when you enter the building, but you'll enjoy your stay if you're looking for budget accommodation.

“A real dump”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

The room was filthy -- garbage under the furniture, burnt out light bulbs, broken window shutter. Noisy as can be. Not a great place. The guy at the desk was rude. The only thing going for it is the location and you can find a host of places in Lisbon which are a lot better.

“Neat & good value for money”

Staff was friendly, room was tidy. Location is good; between El Corte Inglés department store and Parque metro station. Street noise disturbet my night sleep, though not my wife's.

Room Tip: Take a room from backside. Traffic is heavy on AAA

“Great place but map shows wrong location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2011

I stayed here for 3 days during the second week of this year. It was a great place for the price. Very clean. Staff terribly friendly and helpful. It's 300 steps from a metro station called Parque and it's only 2 or 3 stops from the down town section where many of the great restaurants are.

The part of the description where it called it a hostel confused me. It does seem to be just a regular hotel.

One thing I have to warn you about is the map in TA and other sites show the wrong location for this hotel. It's on a hil, and the map shows it as being on downhill side of the Parque station and on the opposite side of the street, but it's on the uphill side and the same side of the street. Like I said 300 steps away.

They arranged a tour to Fatima for me and the bus picked me up right in front of the hotel.

Breakfast mainly consisted of some rolls with a few cold cuts, butter and jelly and a sweet roll. Coffee and juice (not oj).

It's a relatively quite area.

I should mention it's on the fourth floor, in case you miss it on the sign.

The only complaint I had were the matresses were a little bit too firm for me, but still I'm thinking about going back and I will probably go back here.

It cost me 5 euros for 3 days for wifi internet access. Worked well too. I was able to watch a live nfl playoff game from the nfl site with hardly any lag.
