“Mordernistic, yet still charimg”

Well located by the 1500 monastery, across from a park, the hotel has the charm of ancient Lisbon. Yet its interior is very modernistic and filled with modern art pieces and cubical designs. What a peculiar - yet refreshing - mixture. The hotel is nice, a genuinely 3-star, with spaceous rooms, all amenities, free wifi, safe (free), great breakfast buffet and fine service. The hotel also has a fancy looking bar, but I did not try it.
Across the park you have the Beléz Cultural Centre, a must-see. Also the monastery is beautiflu and open to the public, Along the coastline (2-3 minutes walking distance) has many nice sights also.

“Great location and nice staff, will go back again!”

Hi, we stayed at this hotel for 5 nights last month to celebrate a special occassion. The hotel is bang next to the Jeronimos Monastery and great to walk around the Historic quarter. The hotel is an old building with changes done to it. I would definitely suggest to invest in an upgrade to a room with a balcony or terrace for that bit of an extra space. Its a nice modern hotel with a young and helpful staff to match. The colours and styled are classy. The bathrooms are average in size but do the job. The beds were oh so comfy and we both slept very well. There is a small convenient store next door along with a pharmacy if you need. A short walk will take you to the best Pastis [of Belem] shop which is always crowded and people queue to get a sample of the best custard tart in town [ which is served fresh daily for your breakfast!] The brekfast was quite substantial with fresh fruits/yoghurt/eggs etc.
Close to the hotel, you will find a wide range of restaurants to pick from [ mostly Portuguese cuisine and even a McDonald for the ones who miss home!!] Transportation to the city are excellent although we had a car and parking was never a problem even in peak times, just outside the hotel. You can walk to the Torre de Belem as well as the monument of discoveries.
What we liked the best was that in the evenings its much more peaceful than a lot of the heart of city hotels and a nice walk around the hotel is recommended.
All in all we definitely recommend this hotel especially for couples and small families.

Room Tip: Don't bother waiting in lines to get the best Pastis in town, just have it for breakfast! :-)

The hotel is very well situated, in Belém, near Jeronimos Monastery, Belem Tower, pasteis de Belém :) The rooms are spacious, very well decorated. The halls also. The view is great. Definetely to stay once again

Room Tip: Some rooms have great balconies from where one can directly see the Jeronimos Monastery

“Great hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

This hotel was very nice. It was updated, clean and very swanky. The hotel has very green technology with saving energy. Sometimes it is slow like when the lights are turning on but I like that they are attempting to be green. The other green issue is that the AC turns off when you take the room key out of the light switch. That was a pain because when we returned from out evening out or breakfast the room was blazing hot. The buffet breakfast in the morning was excellent. It had fruit, breads, eggs, cheese, cereal, meats and some other things. This was an excellent 4 star hotel!

“Superb Hotel - with very friendly staff”

We LOVED this hotel - so stylish and modern! The staff were very friendly and eager to help. All spoke English.

The modern decor was brilliant, like living in a modern art museum! It's in a great part of Belem, near the monastery. We especially loved the retro trendy hotel bar. FREE WI-FI and a great hotel terrace too!

Minor marks off for no mirror or coffee making facilities in the bedroom but that aside a TOP STAY!

Can't wait to return! VERY GOOD!
