We were looked after very well by the whole team. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and clean. There was a (rather dark) lounge with sofas and a large flat TV on the wall, which was switched off most of the time except when a trio of loud American women were watching VHS and screaming about Michael Jackson. The breakfast room had a bar in it where you could purchase drinks. At breakfast a very generous buffet, with self-service coffee, or else pots of tea to order. A shampoo leak in my suitcase meant my straw hat was damaged, and I tried to dry it with a towel, unfortunately dyeing it blue. We apologised to the chambermaid, and she could not have been nicer about it. The lady in charge of the breakfast room was also lovely. Lots of families and couples of various nationalities, very few business guests during our week long stay. If you need to use the phone in your room they have to switch it on for some reason. TV has various satellite channels, so always something to watch when you get back exhausted. The buses 709, 74 and 706 go from this road, so it is a good idea to purchase a travelcard from the Metro station, which is about 10 minutes walk down through the gardens. Don't rely on taxis, as they won't take you anywhere too far, too near or too uninteresting to them. However, reception staff are always happy to call a taxi for you, or to help with anything you need. Only noise problems were from bin collection in the small hours, and a group of US visitors who left their doors open and called to each other on our floor (and also some strange dragging noises from the room upstairs from 2am to 6am, but that was just for one night only). Really quiet and peaceful hotel considering its useful location. Also, location is quite salubrious, with all the shops nearby being of the Gucci, Prada, MaxMara sort of thing. Near police station, law courts and 2 pharmacies equal distance in either direction.
Room Tip: No street noise front or back, rooms have baths, try for lower floor as lifts are busy in mornings a...
