Uppon arriving at the hotel, a strange uncomforting feeling gets to you. It is situated within a big shopping mall and you can only see a small entrance... In my experience, this is normally not a good sign.
The reception area is very small and in my case the receptionist was friendly and helpfull. Even questions regarding the Nh loyalty program were answered in an understandable English. After a very smooth check-in for a four day stay, I took the elevator to the 7th floor which apparently was classified as the Nh VIP floor. And you have to admit, that always sounds nice. The room itself was spacious, modern looking and clean. The bathroom was OK, only if you are above 1m80 (like myself) the shower has a rather low ceiling and I was not able to stand under the shower in a comfortable manner. In short, Room was great and the bed was just awesome. The sleep quality is around the best I have ever experienced during my business trips.
Because I was rather tired one night, I had my dinner in the hotel itself which I normally avoid. I prefer to go out and discover local cuisines above 'hotel food'. To my surprise the quality of the dinner was OK (although a bit on the expensive side).
Breakfast buffet was amazing. Lots of fresh fruits, fruit salads, pastry, bread. If you like eggs for breakfast, than you will probably be disappointed. I was only able to find some cold hard boiled eggs. That was really a shame given the fact that the hotel was otherwise very good.
Staff is friendly and client oriented. Check out was again smooth and I will certainly come back to this hotel when I am in Lisbon again. Oh, and the view from the top floor (pool) is indeed a real gem!
