Spent 4 nights at the VIP and can definitively recommend the place for a leisure visit to Lisbon. This is certainly not a place with local/traditional flair but the room had all that is needed, was clean, spacious, the breakfast ok and the staff very friendly and helpful. the hotel is located close to a bus station to the airport and to the subway.

Avoid room 101 that has a terrible view on a roof with air-conditioning exhausts

After I read opinion on trip adviser I almost wanted to cancel my stay, went there full of doubts but I was actually impressed.
Convenient location City but in quiet area, not too fare from metro station. Room was comfortable and in good size, our bed was super king size. Clean and cozy. Hotel is not new so there is no flat screen TV but well mantained and still in good condition.
Breakfast really good choice of continental style and British (cooked). Only one disappointment was cafe. Couldn't have "no sugar" all machine options was with sugar inside. I hate it!
Staff really nice and helpful. I would definitelly recommend this hotel for anyone who want to visit Lisbon.

This hotels is faces a street, that are known in Lisbon, for having the "travesti life" of Lisbon. But there are also lots of prostitutes, mostly Brazilians, on the streets from 11pm to 4am. Not the best place to relax in Lisbon. It´s very close to two main metro stations Marques de Pombal and Picoas. In 20 minutes you`re in Restauradores, Baixa, Bairro Alto. My room was very small and WC was like a miniature. The hotel itself is very business oriented, very cold lines and decoration. Food not ddelicious, but acceptable, although breakfast is very boring, everydar the same. Staff was friendly.

As some other reviewers have mentioned, this hotel can't really be classed as 4 star, it is more a 3 star. It was billed on hotels.com as being central, which it is when considering the whole of Lisbon, but not at all useful for the main areas Baixa, Bairro Alto, Chicado etc. It was always a taxi ride back at the end of the night for us which was a bit of a pain when the write-up says its 2 blocks from the main centre! It was SO noisy as well, I could hear the room next door's toilet flushing so loudly, it actually woke me up! You could hear the rattle of coat hangers in other rooms, people talking and despite the double glazing in my room the traffic noise was also a problem. The stupid idea of putting laminate flooring in a hotel also meant you could hear people walking around above too. I wouldn't recommend staying here. You'd be much better off in a more central location without all the noise. The staff were helpful though, and spoke excellent English.
