“Still decent stay in old and ok hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed for two nights in this narrow and seemingly old hotel. In terms of price it was doing ok and it wasn't reall. It was clean but not shiny and reception was very busy. Parking is like hell in this place. You can walk or take the subway to reach downtown. Breakfast is on 10th floor, beware of vertigo. Nothing extraordinary good or bad to note, it's just a 3* Portuguese hotel in Lissabon.

Tip: Take room on higher level to minimize traffic noise.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay in our property and help us get better. We apologise for the reception being busy at that time, but it is something unpredictable, that we cannot control.

Regarding the parking, we must note we have parking places in the street in front of the hotel and another more in a garage close to the hotel.

We hope we can have you stay with us again in the future, so we can do our best to improve your stay.

Best regards.

“Horrible Hotel trading as a Best Western!”

Miss this one like the plague! it is dated, dirty and has Best Western cards in the rooms but has not been a BW for 4 years. 3 of us stayed on a business trip and each of us were extremely disappointed, especially as we were charged 95 euro per room.

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for staying at Hotel Eduardo VII and for taking the time to evaluate us.

We respect your insight and suggestions, however we must say that we have removed all the Best Western related content from our hotel, expect some cards in our bathrooms that advise our guests to only put the bathing towels to wash if they find it necessary, in order to protect the environment, which we find is a noble cause.

Again, we appreciate your comment and will take it into account to better serve our guests in the future.

Kind regards.

this hotel cam highly recommended for a 3 star but, we know why it is only a 3 star at 65 euro per night. the room may have been renovated in 1970 at best. The location is a good 20-30 min walk from Biaxa or Barro Alto. Close to the big mall but that is all the good I can say about the place. Would not stay again...

Dear Sir / Madam,

Thank you very much for staying at the Hotel Eduardo VII and for taking the time to evaluate us.

As you may know our hotel already counts with 50 years proudly working in Lisbon, and during that time it has been always a concern for management to keep the hotel updated, and in touch with the latest hospitality trends, even though our style is mainly classical.

However, we appreciate your comments and will take them into account in the future, to try to better serve our guests.

We look forward in welcoming you again, to make sure we improve your opinion about us.

Kind regards.

“Not up to much!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

This was easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in (22-29 September 2011). It's in desperate need of redecoration and upgrading. Our bedroom (501)was tiny with marked walls and an uneven block floor. Public areas were dull and dingy with wrinkled carpet and poor lighting. There was a large hole in the wall of the lift shaft which did not inspire confidence!
Desk staff were discourteous and a booked alarm call came 20 minutes late with no apology.
Breakfast was poor quality and the toaster broke down half way through the week and was not replaced.
Thank goodness we were able to be out all day as one would not wish to spend any longer than necessary in the hotel.

Room Tip: We asked for the quiet side and our room was tiny with insufficient space to wheel a case past the b...

Dear Sir / Madam,

Thank you for taking the time to evaluate your time at our property.

We respect and hope we can improve with your opinion, however, we must note that the style of the hotel is english classic, and that we have constant refurbishements, in order to keep the hotel clean for our guests.

We do apologise for the missed wake up call, and it is something we will check in order to prevent it happening in the future.

Regarding breakfast, it has been widely praised in this website, for its location in the 10th floor of the hotel, and for its variety.

We hope you can stay with us once more so we can help make your stay more pleasant this time.

Best regards.

“Good location for price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

Rooms were clean with good soundproof windows (busy road outside). The people managing the hotel desk could have been more helpful with questions (instead they seemed bothered and annoyed... this was a minus).
The location of the hotel is great with easy access to everything and a stone throw away form the bus station where the airport bus stops.
The don't have a kettle in the room, and even upon request we had to ask and call three times or so to get one. Breakfast was not the best.
Lisbon is a wonderful city with so much to see and do so we spent very little time at the hotel but it was not bad for the price we paid... so overall: clean and average.
