Easy check in..friendly helpful staff. Generously arranged a gorgeous cake and a bottle of sparkling wine for a guests birthday. Room size was adequate with cosy colours and nice and quiet on the backside of the hotel as the facade was being renovated whilst we were there. Nicely situated on the main Avenida de Liberdade where its easy to get a taxi and close to all designer brand shopping. Food in the bar was good and service always attentive and friendly. I really enjoyed this place as it was low key but with most needs being met to a good standard. My only criticism would be that their gym is very disappointing with only two machines.

Stayed at this property for 5 nights and was above my expectations:
- porter and concierge service was superb;
- check-in very smooth;
- size of room adequate (I hate oversized or undersized rooms - this one was adequate);
- l'occitane toiletries (what can one ask for);
- bedding and towels made from supperb materials;
- mini-bar and coffee facilities in room;
- free wi-fi (high speed);
- amazing breakfast (all on offer, variety for all tastes);
- gold a-club members receive a welcome gift and late check-out (there was no need to bargain for these);
- turn down service with a baci chocolate (heaven);
- iPod docking station a
- excellent location, close to metro station and good restaurants as well boutique shops such as Prada, Guess and Louis Vitton;
- reception staff always wanting you to feel welcome and making you feel as royal family (thumbs up for Melissa from reception).

Well nothing is perfect so my only recomendation is to add more english movie channels and invest on a LCD screen, and yes taxis/ cabs not easily available in front of the hotel (waiting outside at a cold weather for a cab can be not so pleasant).

Well situated for the town. Clean, friendly, quiet and excellent service from the rooms and front desk. Breakfast is expensive but it is an excellent breakfast.
