Again, this is not where you go if you're expecting luxury. For the 50 euros we paid per night, we weren't expecting more than what we got.The hotel is located opposite the Sao Sebastian Metro station and that is the biggest plus! It's an 8-minute walk from Saldanha square where the airport shuttle drops you off. The city centre is about 4 stops away on the metro. The staff at the bar and the front desk are very, very helpful with recommendations for good restaurants, places to see, etc.
The room that we stayed in was small and the bathroom was tiny. Everything in the room (linen, towels, pillows) looked recently bought. After a long day out in the sun, it felt really good to go to sleep on the amazingly comfortable mattress and the duvet was just right for the 14degrees C outside.
The negative, we thought, was the tiny bathroom that looked clean but seemed to have a strange smell on account of there being no ventilation. It did bother us.
Breakfast was average and included in the price - cereal, bread, ham, cheese, croissants, cakes, biscuits/cookies, cut fruits, tea, coffee, cocoa, and juice. The coffee (with milk) was exceptionally good.
