Beutiful building in very quiet area (embassys neighbourhood). Big room with terrace looking to the river (worthy aditional cost), great area with swimming-pool, absolutely quiet inside a beautiful garden. Not in the city center but only 5/10 minutes taxi ride (quite cheap compared to other big cities in Europe). Very helpful staff.

Stayed here for 6 nights over New Year and the experience was superb.

A wonderful staff, and a wonderful, clean and palacial facility. Everyone has a smile when they are interfacing with guests, and they show a genuine desire to be of service and to help you have a great time. Special thanks to all the Concierges, and especially Rui (Sporting fan) who helped us with pretty much everything we needed, going the extra mile to give advice, retrieve information and make reservations...a real star and a genuinely nice chap. When returning to Lisbon, I will not consider staying at another hotel, such was mine and my wife's overwhelmingly positive experience at the Lapa Palace!

One of the best hotels I've stayed at in Europe. Beautiful setting in the old part of the city - had a ground floor room with direct access to the hotel garden, an oasis from the outside world. Inner door between main door and bedroom ensured there was none of the usual hotel noise from guests coming and going. Bed very comfortable and pillow menu was very welcome for my neck strain. I recommend highly.

Stayed here during a business visit mid December 2011. The car park beneath the hotel was vwith convenient, with elevator directly to reception.
I would say the hotel is quite new, 3 years old perhaps, quite modern and stylish. A pleaseant area nearby with modern shopping mall, lots of places to eat with reasonable prices.
A 15 minute taxi ride to most places, the City Centre, not too far from the airport either.
Efficient staff, modern rooms, side view of the river.
Ask for floor 8 if you can, excellent views from here. There is a Casino next door which is not obtrusive and you don't have to join to play, quite large inside with several floor, A haven if you are a smoker.... Not so much if you don't partake.
the elevator takes a little getting used to as the buttons are on the outside, select floor and get inside. HUGE bed.
all in all a pleasant stay, a good selection for breakfast ALL self service.
