“a quiet haven”

Our two nights at Mi Casa were very restful after a stay in Morocco. The white room upstairs was very peaceful and the ironed sheets a huge plus! Our friends stayed in the room across the hall and were equally content. Maria was very helpful with restaurant suggestions and we enjoyed two local meals within walking distance of her home. One of our friends had left some clothing at another Lisbon BandB across town (preMorocco) and Maria's friend who lived nearby graciously picked up the clothing and brought it to Mi Casa.
The breakfasts on the patio were delicious. We'd go back!

Room Tip: The room upstairs to the left was totally serene.

“Brilliant stay, like our home in Portugal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2011

We had a brilliant stay at Mi Casa, Mariule was a great host. The room is light and airy and well decorated and spotlessly clean (we stayed in the white room), it had a very relaxing feeling and we loved the open plan arrangement and the way the light came into the room. We had access to the balcony with a wonderful view. Mariule gave us loads of tips about where to head and we spent saturday night partying on the streets in Alfama at the sardine festival which was a fab experience. The breakfasts are amazing, I don't agree with the person who said they are like something from a cafeteria, it was one of the best breakfasts we've had anywhere. Home made warm bread and scones, fish, tasty cheese and tomatoes with herbs and succulent home made cakes with fresh hot strong coffee- it was a feast.

Room Tip: Go for the white room!

We had the most perfect stay in micasaenlisboa! Maria was an incredibly helpful host! We stayed in a lovingly furnished room with direct access to a wonderful garden, from where you have a gorgeous view over Lisboa. Amazing breakfast with fresh and local products in the sunny garden with great atmosphere! We will definitely come back! Thank you Maria for making our stay so pleasant - we loved it!

“The most charming and friendly stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2011

Maria and her house are full of style and charm. The rooms are spotless and full of carefully selected items which gave the place its own style and not some anonymous corporate hotel chain experience.
You are in a great location in the Graca district, near to a main square with cafes, shops and restaurants. It is a nice residential area and you can catch the 28 tram from here or meander down the narrow streets into the main centre within 15 minutes.
The terrace at the back of house is secluded, incredibly peaceful with stunning views across to the castle and wooded hills. You sit on the terrace enjoying a fantastic breakfast - freshly squeezed orange juice, selection of breads, cakes, cheese, eggs and meats - it is a beautiful start to your day. Lola (Maria's small schnauzer) comes to check you are enjoying yourself and for some fuss if you want to provide it.
Maria and her friendly team are there if you need help and advice at any point, or let you get on with your stay. They really helped us to do some fantastic things - taking a friend's boat at sunset to see Lisbon from the water, booking excellent restaurants and pointing us to local shops and services. No concierge service could beat this!
We really loved the ambience and friendliness Maria provides and think it is for people who want an authentic, charming and independent stay in Lisbon.

Room Tip: The White Room opens on to Garden Terrace

“Very nice B&B - good alternative to a hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2011

We chose this place because frankly we couldn't find a hotel that we liked in Lisbon. In the end it was a good choice, helped along by the fabulous cloudless weather. The B&B is in an old house, so the rooms are a bit quirky but in a nocie way. Our room was very clean and the bed really comfortable. Best thing for me was the wonderful breakfast out on the terrace, overlooking the city.
