“30 Days at Hotel Atlantico in Estoril”

I stayed at the Hotel Atlantico for 30 days. I was treated like royalty! Once you get past the fact that European Hotels are different from the US, you will appreciate this hotel. My room was large and charming. I had never been to a hotel where the closet wasn't a closet but instead was an antique wardrobe! It was stunning! I loved the bar and the restaurants as well. I even learned to love fish (the chef himself was kind enough to explain the different kinds of fish and how they were best prepared, taking the time to ask about my likes and dislikes before suggesting a wonderful local filet). Even the Continental Breakfast was awesome! Fresh, warm croissants with melted butter and jam? What more could you ask for? The best way to get around when you're going to be there for more than a few days, is the train. There is a station directly across from the hotel! You can go anywhere!!!

Room Tip: I stayed in the same room the entire time, so I don't know if some areas are quieter than others...

“worst hotel I've ever stayed in”

this hotel was sold to us as 4*....what a disappointment. Arrived at 11.30am on 13/10/06 room not ready so told to come back at 2.00pm. Returned at 2.40pm room still not cleaned! Bathroom had broken toilet lid, dirty tiles and base of toilet cracked and dirty. Towels had large holes in them. Curtains in dining room were falling off the rails and table cloths were in tatters. Food was disgusting...frozen vegs. and no choice of meal..take it or leave it, and our party of 50 did just that. Although booked and paid for half board most of us ate outside the hotel.Hotel decor was stuck in 1950's with drab brown and green velvet sofas in "lounge" not even suitable for student digs.Bar ran out of beer 3 evenings we were there. To rate this hotel as 2*would be generous, it is by far the worst hotel I have ever been in. If you have a choice go somewhere else!
