“Fantastic place to stay for the whole family.”

We stayed at the Riviera Aug '11. A great place to stay!! From the minute we walked in to the minute we waved goodbye all the staff were brilliant!!
Very helpful, nothing was a problem to sort or arrange and all was done with a smile!!

We stayed in a room over looking the pools to the rear of the hotel. Room was clean, tidy and well organised. Had a mini bar (which we didn't use.....a bit pricey) and a safe, which was free to use.
Even with a camp bed for my young son, the room had adequate space. Rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed if you required.
The hotel has two pools, a small pool for toddlers and a main pool, both pools and pool area were very clean and were maintained on a daily basis.

Buffet breakfast with an excellent choice. Something for everybody. Evening meals are also buffet (for those that we stayed for) but again a great choice and prepared to a very high standard.
Plenty of staff were on hand to explain what the different dishes were and again were very helpful & polite.
And on requesting, they organised a special birthday cake with candles for my son's fifth birthday and even sang "happy birthday" to him.

The hotel has attached to it a small shopping complex with some great stores and restaurants. From designer clothes stores to a small super market and from a small cafe to a great Italian restaurant (Zeno's pizzas - the best I've ever had!!)

The beach is only a short walk from the hotel, is clean and also has a patrolled area not that I ever questioned our safety. The locals our very friendly.

For those of you without kids, there isn't that much to do outside of the hotel in the evenings. But Estoril and Cascais are only a short taxi ride away and are buzzing.
We had a couple of day trips to both places and went by train, the station is also only a short walk from the hotel. Don't be put off by the short cut via the tennis club road to the side of the hotel.
Kids under five are free by train and a return ticket to Cascais was only 3.50Euros per person.
Cascais has lots of shops and restaurants and has plenty to do.

All in all, a great place to stay with excellent facilities and excellent staff.

“noche de nupcias”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2008

We decided to pass our wedding night in this hotel and it was an excellent decision.
The room was very clean, we had champanghe, robes, fruits, water etc.. the hotel is very beautifull and the rooms are spacious enought.
The staff are friendly and polite.
We only dont give 5 stars because anywhere you want to go you need a cab or 1o minutes walking to train station.
But there´s no doubt that there are nearby restaurants, supermarkets, shopping center and the beach is just there too.
We live nearby the hotel and in estoril coast this is one of the best hotels no doubt.

“First Class”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2007

Stayed here in September and couldn't fault it, staff were polite and courteous, excellent facilities, if you can, have a suite, the extra space is worth it, pool area with bar is nice and peaceful if you don't like the beach which is only a short walk away. Plenty of restaurants nearby, recommend the Atlantico just on the corner, if you are a seafood lover, all in all an excelllent place to stay if you are on a short break, don't know if there is enough within walking distance if you wanted to stay longer to keep a family occupied, though Estoril and Cascais are only a short drive away.

“Good location, good view, good value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2007

We stayed 4 nights at this 4* hotel, sea view room. It was high season and we had to wait a bit for the room to be ready. This was not a problem as the hotel communicates with a very nice little mall. The hotel main areas are spacious and decorated with taste.
The room surface was fine with a big mirrored closet, safe and very clean. It offered the normal equipment for a 4* hotel: TV/Radio, good lighting, a little corner with 2 chairs & a table. The bathoroom was on the small side but with good mirrors, towels and toiletries. It also had a small balcony with 2 chairs. Room service also fine. Rooms on the pool side get less sun and could be a bit noisy.
Breakfast was very good: plenty of choice, good quality fruit, no rush and good service.
The pool is not big but the pool area has a nice lawn, plenty of sunbeds and sun all day. Snacks, salads, fruit, ice creams, drinks and lunch (between certain hrs) are also available.
It's a good place for families with children.
Within walking distance you have the big wide "Carcavelos" beach and a few good value restaurants.
The train station (linking Lisbon to Estoril & Cascais) is not far (but you need a taxi if carrying luggage).
