“a place of memories”

I just holidayed in Portugal and I absolutely love it there.

The best thing about Hotel Inglaterra is the service, everyone is friendly, knowledgable and professional. after leaving my hotel room to eat at the breakfast buffet, my room was already cleaned, I was so shocked at the staff's promptness.

The breakfast buffet was amazing, probably becaue I tried to have something different everyday on my week long stay. The staff were lovely in that deparrtment too.

The location of the hotel is very convenient. On the downside, the rooms are a bit small, i was on the first floor in a twin room. The bathroom was also very small and cleanliness could be improved but ovverlall i loved my stay and will definitely return.

“Really liked it...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2010

This is a classy small 4 star hotel that has all the services and facilities of a bigger chain hotel with a whole lot more intimate charm and style. Pool, restuarant, bar, kid's playground, business center, nice lobby, and front desk manned at all hours. The restuarant is a sunny room overlooking the grounds. The included breakfast, which was a buffet with good variety, nothing bad but nothing especially good either. The wireless internet for 7 euros works well, and we were able to use the same code for two computers.
We had a 4th floor queen room on the small side (maybe not by European standards) with tiny balcony offring a good sea view over rooftops. Also a 4th floor twin room (two twins together like a king) which was more spacious but no balcony and not as good a view. The decorating is true to the photos and still in good condition. There are no comfy chairs. The bath rooms are of good quality tile and marble with sufficient counter space and tub/shower combinations. Location is next to a nice residential district uphill, but downhill you are just half a block from the excellent Pastelaria Garrett, a nice local grocery, and easy walking distance to all the rest of Estoril's action like the Casino, the train station, beach, etc. The off season rate starts November 2nd, the day after All Saints Day, and the weather was still perfect, sunny in the low 70's/high 60's. At the off season rate, I was very, very satisfied and would definitely go back.

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2010

This hotel far exceeded my expectations! It was so beautiful and in a fantastic location. We were able to get a discounted rate because of the off season, which was very lucky! Beautiful building, gorgeous grounds and extremely helpful and accommodating staff. They let us check in early and checkout late. I would definitely stay here again!

“Relax and take in the coast from here...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2010

We both enjoyed staying at this hotel, it was comfortable and nicely furnished, with really helpful friendly staff. The food was ok, a good choice for breakfast, but I felt that the evening food was rather basic. Easy walking distance to the coast and train station.

“Better than Estoril”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2010

The room was great -- comfy bed, rich colors, antique fixtures in the bathroom, nice balcony with view of the city and beach. The pool and poolside bar were also quiet and nice. Service was fine, but not friendly. Breakfast was great with a variety of breads, meats, fruit, pastries, yogurt, juices, etc. And the location was super -- only about a 10 minute walk to the beach.

However, if we had it to do over, we would skip Estoril and stay in Cascais the whole time. In comparing the two, Cascais is more accessible, more relaxing, and more picturesque.
