“Charming hotel 20 minutes away from Lisbon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

For business travellers, this hotel has a very good quality versus price rate. You can walk everywhere:the Congress centre is 5 minutes away , the beaches are 15 minutes away, you have restaurants and shops very near. During the night it is very quiet and sleep quality is ensured. Breakfast is very good.I was given an upgrade so I do not know about other rooms but suite 209 has a wonderful view and everything you need for a pleasure or business stay. Estoril is 20 minutes away from Lisbon and 30 minutes away from the airport. The only minor point was for the heating system that needs maintenance (noisy and not really efficient) but as I only stayed one night, I did not complain so maybe they could fix it easily.

“Nice Atmosphere, Good Value -will come back.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

Well renovated end of 1800 house. High ceiling rooms -I was at the ground floor, with nice large terrace. Each room is different. Very nice breakfast. The pool is small: just to refresh, not to swim; but the pool area is quite nice. Furnitures are pleasant -they did a good job.
The only defect is the noise -being an old house, floors and doors are not sound proof and the chats in the entrance hall might be heard on the whole ground floor.

Room Tip: ask for a view or a terrace, according to your preference. Each room is different.

“NICE HOTEL BUT ON A STEEP HILL”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

A. This hotel was on a steep hill but unfortunately this wasn't mentioned in the brochure or at time of booking. This proved to be a problem as my husband was awaiting surgery on his knee. We were on the fifth floor and the room had two windows but you needed to go on your tip toes to see outside.
On the plus side the room was quiet at night with no traffic noise, and there was no noise from the adjoining rooms. In some hotels you can hear the people in the next room talking, coughing or flushing the toilet, but the rooms must be soundproofed as all was quiet at night.
The staff were friendly and helpful especially Peter and Joao who always had a smile on their faces and time for a chat or a joke. The surrounding area was busier than I had expected, but it was easy to get the train to Cascais where there is a vast amount of restaurants to choose from. If I ever visited this area again I would definitely stay in Cascais and not Estoril.

“Good Hospitality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2011

We stayed at the hotel in June for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary . I was a little upset by the size of our room as it was small but they had given us a sea view on the 5th Floor. The bathroom is also very small and it is quite challenge to get the right temperature as the water is so hot .
The staff are all very helpful especially the dinning room staff as when we were there they were short staffed due tostaff holidays and illness but the waiter Peter was covering all the dinning room in the morning and the pool during the rest of the day .

There is plenty of choice at breakfast but it is a mystery why the heated utensils fail to keep the food warm.

“Best hotel's assets - it's staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2011

We stayed at the hotel Inglaterra for two nights recently. It's fine though i would not give it 4 stars, more like 3 - 3.5. The pool area is quite small, all hard concrete and barely enough sunloungers, and the water was quite cold so I did not use the pool, which was a shame. The temperature control of the shower was quite hard to keep steady, and in my opinion, the bathroom could do with a makeover. The bath towels had holes in them and though white, they were on the small side and well worn. The pillows were also small and were lumpy. We had a room overlooking the garden which was more utilitarian that pretty. Breakfast buffet was just ok, the bacon had been sitting and stewing in the hot dish, not looking very tasty. We both did not choose to eat it.

Room Tip: I assume the best rooms were the ones with a view
