I only stayed one night in December which to be fair isn't the best time of year to be staying in a Atlantic seaside resort. Resorts don't look great when the weather is cold and grey. The reception of the hotel is very welcoming, marbled quite grand looking. The reception staff are very helpful and quick. I didn't use the bar or restaurant but the looked very pleasant. I was staying for a reception and Gala evening at the Casino so the hotel was very conveniently located for the evening's festivities.
The room itself was disappointing for a 4 star hotel. Without doubt it was clean, tidy and quite spacious. But just not quite there, little things I suppose rather than anything big overall. Poor decoration in the bathroom, CRT TV, no wifi, no iron/trouser press. Nothing specific but definitely not the feel of a 4 star.
But a pleasant enough nights sleep and the breakfast was a buffet style affair with plenty on offer but again not quite getting there. The hot items had been there a long while and the method of keeping them warm wasn't working or wasn't sufficient. The coffee wasn't the greatest and cold items weren't quite cold enough.
Overall a nice stop and perhaps come the summer things change
