“Very nice quite hotel, great for peace and relaxation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

The Vivamarinha apartment hotel well set up for peace and relaxation. Rooms are very comfortable indeed, the grounds and pool are first class. The food is very fresh and tasty, staff are inviting and friendly. The only watch out is that you will need a car as it is located outside of the main town area. Certainly worth the effort as it is only a few minutes into the town by car.

Room Tip: All rooms would be worthwhile!

“Cascais hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

This is a nice friendly hotel with friendly staff. The family rooms are large and comfortable. We stayed in early November so it was quiet and there is not much for kids to do after dark - but its fine if you simply want to play cards and relax. The shutte bus is good and can be booked to take you into and out from Cascais - it also will take you to Sintra!! Trains run from Cascais directly to Lisbon - about 30minutes and its a nice journey. There are bikes at the hotel that you can hire for free but they are in pretty bad shape and are not for the faint hearted.

“Wonderful retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

Set in landscaped grounds with a beautiful outside pool, this was a relaxing stay with everything comfort. We had a deluxe room with a balcony, beautiful bathroom and also a kitchenette so that we could prepare hot drinks and simple meals if necessary.
The breakfasts (inclusive) were excellent: a wide range of fruit juices and fresh fruit, cereals and yoghurt, cold meats, cheeses, smoked salmon, a variety of hot dishes and every type of bread and pastry imaginable. I was provided with gluten-free products with no problem.
A car was on hand until 6pm each day to take us to Cascais or sightseeing to nearby Sintra. Bicycles were also available to access the local beaches via the coastal cycle paths.
The only downside for us was that the restaurant failed to provide anything other than bistro type meals so we had to go into town to eat every evening. The onsite spa is also disappointing.

Room Tip: First floor more private outside space.

“Good times had by all...”

We stayed for two nights, in the main hotel earlier this month. I was travelling with my two teenage daughters and we were looking for a relaxed atmosphere where we could be well looked after, but left to our own devices. VivaMarinha came up trumps. All the staff were marvellously helpful; the suite we booked worked brilliantly for us; the breakfast (although not the best value in the world) was delicious and the pool and spa areas were gorgeous.

One thing to note; I treated the girls to a beauty treatment and we wanted to have our manicures and pedicures together. But as there was only one beautician that was not possible.

“Beautiful surroundings, relaxing stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

We've had a great week at the VivaMarinha and would recommend it highly. Set in extensive and beautiful grounds, the hotel has been quiet, making for a relaxing break in lovely surroundings. Our room was very large and luxurious, and unexpectedly kitted out with a perfectly sized kitchenette, which has come in really handy. Service has been helpful and friendly and we've had no problems at all. The pool area has been a peaceful retreat when we spent the day here, but there are some great things to do if you can drag yourself away...
a) Go visit Sintra - it has two palaces and an ancient castle - so allow a whole day to explore it all, it's worth it!
b) Take a trip to Lisbon - catch the train (just 10 mins taxi from the hotel), and it's a 40 min journey away.
c) Borrow one of the hotel bikes (they're free) and cycle along the coast. Either turn left onto the main road for Cascais, or go right and head for the beach.
We came to the hotel via Lisbon airport on the No.1 City Centre airport bus to Lisbon's Cais Do Sodre station. Trains to Cascais are every 20 mins, and once in Cascais a cab ride to the hotel will leave you with change from 10 Euros.
You'll have a lovely time!
