Me and my husbant have staied in this hotel for 8 nights during our vacantion in Portugal. It was simply excelent! The room, the servce and the location is great.

Having read the reviews I was expecting shabby chic what I got was just shabby. The staff are indeed very friendly & helpfu and it was very clean - but they could do with a vist from the hotel inspector to make the most of what has been & could be a wonderful building. The gardens were large but I didn't find them inviting to sit in. The paintings on the dining room walls & the chapel are indeed magnificent if you do stay do not miss viewing the chapel. Breakfast was basic and uninspiring. Eggs- fried, scrambled or as an omelette was the choice for a hot breakfast and I should have asked why eggs were NOT served on a Sunday. Positioning was indeed great in a quiet area of the town.

Extremely well run establishment with welcoming owners and friendly staff. It is in an interesting old building with a lovely walled garden where you can relax in peace and quiet even though it is located in town. Only 5 minutes walk to the centre of Cascais where there are trains every 20 minutes to Lisbon. Highly recommended.

I would recommend this place, huge bathroom, very clean, staff fluent in English, lovely quiet little cobbled street and free parking for the car right out the front.
