“Spacious European Room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Our stays in Sintra and now Cascais have proven that the U.S. expectation of "small European rooms" must exist be elsewhere.

Our room, 3, is on the ground floor, and it has enough room for 3 grown adults as well as room for yoga, for 6. The room reminds me of an auntie's spare bedroom she never uses. Sure it needs attention, perhaps a brush-up, but really it's very clean and super spacious. If we were staying here for 2 months, we'd probably volunteer to paint and purchase curtains. Alas, we are tourists, and for 50 Euros a night for a large private space that includes a hot-water kettle in the bedroom, a very fine bathroom, free wifi, and breakfast (3 choices for eggs that made to request, bread, ham, cheese, other meat-like products, yogurt, fruit, water that looks like juice, teas, machine-coffee), we believe we found a great place!

There is a chapel in the building that you'll have to search for. It is just down the hall in the very European breakfast room. If we were here for two months, we would volunteer to dust, but as we are tourists...

Overall, the hotel's friendly staff, free port wine to try, and great location prompted us to post while sitting in their breakfast room. I am sure there are other places with better views and fine service, but for historical charm that only a long-lost European auntie has, this hotel is fantastic.

Room Tip: Our room was on the ground floor. It seems that the rooms near the breakfast room have a better view...

“Great stay”

A bit hard to find at first, but Cascais is a great place to wander with a backpack.
The staff was fantastic. Very nice, with plenty of information about town.
The room was very large and extremely clean; bed was large and nice, bathroom was well appointed- large shower, great water pressure, temp etc.
Breakfast was great- plenty to eat and such a beautful dining area.
On the last night there I came back to my room to find a bottle of wine left for me and a note wishing me safe travel.

“Piece of History.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

We stayed 4 days in the Hotel. The staff is lovely, all the time ready to help. The room was very clean.
We took our breakfast in a very historic room with lots of beautiful paintings. Inside the place we found a very old church, Both are treasures of the past inside the hotel.
We stayed in the room n. 13, and we saw all the rooms are different, is better to check first to choose the best one for you !!

Room Tip: Look first the options. All the rooms are different

“Cute Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

We had a brief but interesting stay at this hotel. The rooms are very nice and the location is close to the bay. However, it is difficult to find and the streets are very narrow if you have a car. The afternoon reception was very friendly and helpful though the overnight staff man was a little abrupt. The building is very cool with a old chapel right inside. Our room next to the chapel and gardens was lovely. We would stay at this hotel again.

All there were very helpful and made us feel more than just residents, good location less than 5 mins walk to the beach, close to eating places and small bars away from the tourist areas of the town, breakfast was excellent so its a place I hope to return to one day
