We stayed at the Pestana Cascais Ocean and Conference Aparthotel for eleven days B/B at the beginning of October 2011. Took taxi from Lisbon Airport to hotel and return. We asked for high floor and were allocated Room 608 with side sea view and sun on balcony until 1.30 p.m. Room large with plenty storage but kitchenette, etc needed refurbishing, also TV very old and needed to be re-tuned to get the limited English channels. Safe in room available to rent. Room cleaned every day with sheets changed every two days and towels daily. Large indoor and outdoor pools and lovely gardens overlooking main road and sea. Buffet breakfast was adequate. Hotel staff helpful when needed. Courtesy shuttle bus with very nice friendly driver runs from hotel into centre of Cascais and return. From October onwards mini-bus only available Mon - Fri. Very nice baker/cafe and supermarket across road from hotel. Lovely coastal walk from Pestana Aparthotel into Cascais, which is an excellent small resort with marina, small harbour and lots of shops and places to eat. There is a beautiful promenade stretching along to Estoril. Weather was exceptional for October, over 30 degrees every day. Train runs regularly from Cascais to Lisbon. May return to Pestana Aparthotel some time in the future.

This hotel was ok.
You have to pay €28 for internet access for the week.
You have to pay (can't remember how much) for the room's safe.
Non-sea view is fine if you're going to get out and about - which you should.
Breakfast was a buffet - cereals, fruit, bread, scrambled egg, ham, cheese, sausages(yuk), rashers( yuk), madiera cake (yum), T, coffee etc.
Room has cooker hobs & you can boil water etc - no kettle though!
Clean hotel, helpful staff, located a bit outside Cascais but had a free hotel mini-bus leaving on the hour ( mon-fri) dropping at train station & from there back at 20 past the hour up to 6pm.
Free ( local council) bike " rental" is available (single gear old crocks) just down at the coast nearby. NB - there have nothing to do with the hotel.
The "gym" ( health centre) is just there to pretend to have something - there is nothing of use there - don't plan to use it - no weights at all!
Taxi from town centre (for 2 people) is cheaper than local bus, but not from hotel.
Walkers would like the walk.
Bikers can have a fine cycle westward along the coast to nice beaches - great views & waves - the few food places there were shut at this time of the year.
Very nice coffee shop across the road and supermarket too.

We stayed at the hotel for a long weekend. It's a five minute 4 Euro taxi to the centre of Cascais, the same to Oitavos dune and Quinta de marina golf courses. A good pool and garden, tennis courts and reasonable breakfast made it ideal for our purposes. The room had two beds, a sofa and a small kitchenette and was ok. Overall the hotel is a typical tourist 3 - 4 star establishment, but nearer to 3.

We stayed at Pestana Cascais Hotel from Sept. 19 th to Oct. 3 rd. Room number 425.
Why were we disillusioned? The shuttlebus was during several days not available since it broke down. Afterwards we were also informed that the shuttlebus service was not operating on Saturdays and Sundays from Oct. 1 st onwards. A walk to the centre of Cascais takes about three quarters of an hour!
When we first entered our room on Sept. 19 th we noticed that the air conditioning did not work. We informed the reception desk and it took two days to have it repaired.
As most people know, Portuguese food feeds a man but is not palatable.
Wifi is very expensive indeed. So is the safe box: 21 € for a fortnight.
A positive point is the friendliness of the staff .
