This place is nearly there; it is top notch and 5 star in the truest sense on many counts; the design, the grounds, the look and feel of the place, the quality of the rooms - all outstanding. Also the staff, just about everybody we spoke to had excellent customer service skills and understood what delivering 5 star service really means. The location is pleasant and its probably a 8-10 minute drive to the centre of Cascais
I have to say though, if this hotel implements a few smaller things it will be right up there.
I would have like to have seen
- Some kind of ipod/Ipad dock in the room, there is no means to play music
- A hotel of this quality should have Nespresso machines. The room didnt have any provision for tea/coffee
- A bit of a grumble here; no complimenrary mineral water in the room. However for 8 Euros you can purchase a bottle of Hildon mineral water. This is naff on several counts; for a start it felt counter intuitive to see English mineral water in Portugal (I'm English, and there are an abundent number brands of mineral water native to Portugal that surely could be picked?) and secondly charging 8 Euros for it itsn't 5 star, its just an old fashioned a rip off.
Also breakfast is 'good enough' but not outstanding.
Please bear in mind my criticisms are relative to what I assume are the aims of the hotel, it is already 5 star, rightly so and my suggestions should be taken in that context.
If you're in this lovely area then stay here it is an exceptional place.
