We stayed this hotel because it was not too far off the beaten track. They also allow dogs which is great a many hotels in Portugal don't. It's a beautiful hotel with so much history as it used to be a working wine farm. The restaurant was closed when we stayed and we didn't want to travel into viseu and leave the dog on her own so the staff arranged for a variety of food to be sent up from the main restaurant in Viseu. The food was first class and plenty of it. The service second to none. We will definitely stay here again and are planning on stayng next week.

“disappointment”

I stayed at this hotel with my family and friends only one night but it was more than enough.
First of all the hotel itself are milles away from being what is advertised in the hotel website at www.villamea.com. The announced swiming pool is closed (Dont´t forgett we´re in August ! ); The prices announced don't match with those they really charge you. The extra bed simply doesn't exist. What exists it´s an ordinary sofa that they "transform" in a so-called extra bed with an unacceptable two inches high !!! sponge matress in which is absolutelly impossíble anyone sleep at and for that they charge you 30 euros. You pay 30 euros to become with no bed and no sofa. We claimed that but for them it is an absolutely normal situaton.
The anounced recovered midle age village we are still trying to find it.
It is an hotel and a place not to be back.
