Room was clean and decent sized. Wonderful lady checked us in on 3/14 for just one night. Problem? We'd been extremely careful with our money for the entire trip - always had it on us in a money belt. We counted our money every evening in order to know where we were on our budget. So we know what was in there the night we checked in. We went for breakfast in the hotel restaurant on 3/15 and were gone for only about 30 minutes, and we stupidly left our money in the belts in a backpack in the locked room. Got lulled by how the hotel reminded us of a decent mid-range type American chain. Back to the room, pack up and go to pay... we had a $500 EU note and a $200 EU note in the money belt, and the $500 is missing. I can only say I hope it went to house and feed the family of an underpaid and overworked housekeeper.
