“Great quality for the price”

Stayed in this hotel for one night and i have to say that i'm glad for choosing this one. Excellent location to start your trip around coimbra, a lovely city! Plus nice rooms, hotel very clean and friendly and competent staff. Very good breakfast and they park your car for you. For a 3 star hotel it has an excellent quality-price relation.

“Well located and extremely helpful”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

The hotel Oslo was a reasonable option for a short stay in Coimbra. It is well located near the river and close to lots of restaurants. To get to the sights it is a hike up the hill but this is such a pretty place to visit.

It is ugly from the outside, but the lobby and breakfast room are pleasantly decorated and comforatble. We were impressed with the staff who happily showed us where all the main sights were, giving us a map and advice about good things to visit.

We were a little disappointed with the room. Although we knew it was nothing special decor wise we did think that the rooms were looking very tired, and the bathroom was really quite small and dated. We did appreciate being shown 2 rooms and given the choice - it meant we could not be next to a room with a baby which we thought could be quite noisy. Incidentally we stayed only on the 2nd floor and didn't find it noisy at all.

Breakfast was pretty good for a small 3 star hotel.

We were pleased on the whole as we found that accomodation was not plentiful or amazing value in Coimbra - but it's a little shabby.

“Tough Call”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

I had mixed feelings about Hotel Oslo. Hotel Oslo has a great location. A short walk to the historic center and very near excellent, inexpensive restaurants, and there's free parking just across the street. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and efficient. But it's on a very noisy street and the rooms are cramped and decor is dated (not in a good way). Try to get a room not facing the street.

“coimbra”

Stayed here for 2 nights. One of the ugliest hotels externally you will find, however, the inside is nicely done. The standard rooms are on the small side although we managed to get a bigger one, albeit for an extra 10 euros. Breakfasts are more than enough and good quality. The rooms at the front have views of the University on the hill, which is lovely at night. The downside of having the view is the street noise. Staff are helpful. There is also a terrific, well priced "Restaurant Guiseppe and Joachim". a few hundred metres away-it is largely Italian but thr fish is excellent.

“Exceeded our expectations. Don't let the exterior scare you.”

Wife and I stayed here two nights in August. The location is perfect for visiting the city on foot (we didn't drive, so we can't speak to the parking situation. It's steps from the train station and a 15 minute walk from the bus station). We stayed on the top floor, had a small balcony with two metal chairs from which we could enjoy the spectacular view. The outside of the hotel looks like an old concrete slab, but our room was very modern and so was the breakfast room. Very clean, comfortable bed and a choice of different pillows. The breakfast was very generous; my wife loved the lattes and croissants. Would definitely stay there again. Great value and not to expensive.
