This is an excellent hotel, right on the main plaza of this amazingly beautiful little city. We stayed there for two days in June and loved every second of it. The city is astonishing and the isalnd of terceira is a gem. Truly. The hotel couldn't be closer to the energy of the city yet remains quiet, peaceful and professional.
Clean, well-run and in all ways apart of the city's charm, this hotel is highly recommended.

Three weeks we stayed in this hotel. The room smelled awfull musty and breakfast was dull.
The inside swimmingpool (10x5 meters)annex so called fitnessroom(??) leaked from all sides when it was raining.
In the lobby whe found only the two young temporary receptionistes very friendly.
Daily price in midseason, 98 euro, not worth it.
Had a room with a view towards the very beautifull public garden-park, but the balcony was so small and tiny, you couldn't enjoy it sitting down.
The same dirty stains in the bathroom were still there after 3 weeks and hoovering the carpet was not included in the price we think.
Location of the hotel is very convenient.
First time, last time .

This hotel is right in the heart of Angra - which is great. The hotel is so dirty and OLD. They seriously need to update the rooms. The elevator is the smallest thing I have ever seen. The fixtures in the bathroom are 20 plus years old. The air conditioner knob broke off in my hand and you could see the massive amounts of glue on it. The tv is very small - reminded me of what people had in the 60's.

Really a shame they haven't updated the rooms - the front lobby looked nice but seriously the room was just dirty.

Impressive looking hotel (renovations now finished in front) with a wonderful position on the Placa Velha. The double room was a cell block overlooking a fine garden. A great pity that 4 men spent all day hammering the paintwork of the small bandstand almost opposite our window which, in addition to being the most inefficient means of removing paint, was also the noisiest!! The room was in a long narrow corridor and very cramped indeed with poor storage space.

Breakfast, in the large dining room, was very poor indeed and inferior to anything else we experienced on our 14 day holiday. Consequently we did not consider dining there in the evenings and, in any case, the restaurant always appeared empty during the 3 nights we spent there. (Try the Adega Lusitania!)

Basically the atmosphere was cold and uninviting although the reception staff spoke English well and answered any questions. It seemed the target customers would be business people or conference delegates. I do not think they will have much repeat business with tourists though. Parking is difficult of course but it always is in the centre of Azorian towns!

We loved Terceira and next time we come we will definitely look elsewhere. The poor rating is from our perspective of course - the hotel may suit other customers better.
