I needed to stay over in Ponta Delgada as I waited for my next day flight to change islands (and on the way back to come back home) found this hotel at an unbeaten 45euros on travelocity. I really got a great deal for my buck.
The hotel was clean, and was close to the airport. Cab ride cost 10 E with luggage and 7 E without luggage. It was located in the city and you had easy access to markets and some shops. Also a close walk to the port. ( I didnt explore much more as i was only there to transfer planes..)
The frontdesk offered a laptop which you could use to check the internet, you dont stay on it long as your in the entrance (not much privacy) and often other hotel guest may need it but its plenty to check email. The television offered a lot of channels, some local and some in english.
The room was clean (except for ants that came out of nowhere and overtook a chip crumb i left), and large. King size bed, full bathroom (with bidet), large couch and a balcony. Extra blankets and pillows also! I just have to point out there a key holder near the door which you NEED to use or else the electricity doesnt activate! Its simple but in the dark i found myself searching and panicking!!
The staff was nice and helpfull. They spoke english overall and were glad to help out.
The breakfast was very simple and typical of the Açores, bread, croissants, cheese and yogurt. (There was also cereal, sliced meats, coffee). I only had the bfast once so i cant comment on variety. There is a small bar in the lobby, typically of the açores the stock depends on what they got, so theres a limited selection but its good to grab a late night drink..
Overall I had a very good stay!
