We were there as a family of 19 from Aug 9-20/09. About 1/2 the rooms were newly renovated. The renovated rooms were awesome. They had flatscreen tvs and lots of glass and beautiful furniture. Our room was very old and dated but clean. Hard to open the closet - very sticky. If you go - make sure to ask for a renovated room! Our toilet ran HOT water, but none of the other rooms did. Beds were hard! Shower pressure and temperature were excellent. Our balcony faced the city but had a beautiful mountain/ocean view in the background. Very little ice available from the bar, and no ice machines which North Americans are used to. We had the front desk order a cab twice. The first time it was free, but the second time it cost .35 cents. ??. Pool was indoors but led out to a patio for sunbathing. Very nicely kept and had a great jacuzzi (also indoors). Nice sauna and workout room as well. Internet is available near the lobby ($3 euros for 1 hour - you can split the hour up at your leisure). Pool table was nice too. Breakfast included - runny eggs and fatty bacon, or small hot dogs). Breads were great! Cheeses, ham and juices were good and toaster toasted to perfection. Coffee was not very hot - except from the machine which also made cappucino, and several other hot drinks. We had a large group which made lots of noise and they were quite gracious about it. We paid 77 per night for a double room and $20 more for a cot in the room. There was one elevator that was fast. Two of them beside check in desk were awful. They would not close until you pressed the close button 10 times, and they sometimes stopped below or above floor level! Overall experience was good. Definitely a 3 star hotel. No bugs and clean so it was pretty good in my books!
