All rooms have an amazing sea view. The hotel also has a small swimming pool, but use this for the evening, do not hang in there during the day. Explore the nearby rain forrest, it is absolutely stunning. Go hiking. Rent a car. Although the hotel is situated in a quiet, but beautiful little town, full of blossoms, there is plenty to do. Bird watching, golf etc. For hiking: make sure you have good shoes and a good map in advance. Hotel personnel did not provide any useful information on hiking, furthermore, their information proved to be even wrong. Do not hike in fog! If you reach the fog, turn back. A short drive to beach and village hiking, a short drive to European produced tea: Gorreana and Formosa factory. Otherwise, the food in the hotel was excellent, also good breakfast. Dinner was included in our price and we were nicely surprised. Unfortunately the personnel had zero opinion on which wine to recommend with the food, so we took a wild guess with a local one. I really liked it there and certainly recommend it. I would stay there again myself.

This is a nice hotel (Estalagem means small hotel). Nice people. Beware that it is located about 2 hours from Sao Miguel airport. The coast to the south is extraordinary, great BBQ or picnic spots. They even furnish wood in the BBQ pits, amazing.

Make your reservation directly with hotel, not with an "agent". Then you can modify or cancel very easily. We had a problem with this in desiring to shorten our stay.

Hotel food was good, not great wit excellent service. There are better restaurants nearby.

The long drive along the north could be good reason to stop in my favorite restaurant, in Riberinha, O Gato Mei, superb and amazing value. I had roasted goat and my wife an astonishing scallop, shrmip, and fish dish in cream sauce baked on a roof tile. With several small plates, 2 first course, wine, one beer, salad, coffees the bill was 37 Euros.

We booked this hotel as a part of our 'car tour of Sao Miquel' for two nights. We thought that Azores are quiet but nothing prepared us for this. It was unbelievably quiet!!! We first thought that we were the only guests here.
There is nothing wrong with this hotel and if you want VERY quiet holiday than this is the place to go. But to be honest, if we had to stay there more than 2 nights we might get crazy :))) There is no easy access to the see near by and if you don't have car, there is not much to do.
Our room was very nice and clean with views over Nordeste village. Dinner was very nice. 3 course meal was E 15.5 per person.

Chose this hotel because of its slightly more isolated location compared to the main towns on the island. Spent the first 4 nights of a 10 night holiday here and it was great. Hotel is quite small and very quiet but still well serviced and comfortable. Food in restaurant was convenient and seaview from room with balcony was perfect. Shame about the floodlight in the car park between the hotel and the town but only a small complaint. Would recommend this as somewhere to unwind and see the east side of the island. A car is essential.
