Rather dated 3-star hotel located across the river from the main town - terrific views from room. Basic functional room, few frills, breakfast ok - no hot food or eggs. Public areas terrace & pool would be nice if freshened up.
Recommended only for the view (and the lack of alternatives in Silves)

We stayed for a week in September 2009, as it was end of season it was very quiet. We stayed on a B&B basis to enjoy a different place to eat each night, but found the town of Silves very quiet at night, no atmosphere at all. The hotel makes a good base for the tourist, big carpark, good food in the hotel, but no music and no atmosphere. They hold seminars for companies, and wedding receptions. Our room was at the side of the hotel with a large balcony and our own small garden overlooking the pool. Fado's had live music Saturday and Thursday, small and lively, a very good night with excellent food. A good tourist base but not meant for a holiday, would not stay there for a whole week again.

To be honest it was a pleasant stay,you need to bear in mind this is the only hotel in Silves as all others are outside the town.The hotel was in off season and very quiet though I agree that when busy which it was one Sunday with a wedding that the noise coming through the ceiling in room 210 (which like a previous reviewer we were in) and those rooms along the same corridor could be a major issue, the chairs and tables on the balcony above squeak and rub and echo into the rooms. Its also worth noting there are no double beds in this hotel and they only offer singles pushed together which creates a 5 foot wide bed which you may or may not like, other points worth noting are if you like coffee I suggest you bring some instant granules as the machine in the breakfast buffet produces something which is a bit indescribable for a coffee lover,the shower gets 10 out of 10 and the bedroom was big and had an excellent view.they also offer a 20% of happy hour at the bar though you need to remind them to give you the discount everytime your served.we didn't eat in the hotel other than the breakfast.

Stayed a week this October . got room 210 – no noise from above and a great view from the balcony of Silves Castle and the rest of the town .
A short walk over the bridge takes you into the town centre with plenty of cafes and restaurants .Had dinner in the hotel the first night , not good , the only minus point of staying at this hotel !
The room and bathroom were spotless on arrival and kept that way every day by a very cheerful chambermaid .
There was a bit of noise some mornings coming from their conference suite but as this is the only hotel in Silves where else are the local organisations going to meet ? Loud and cheerful would be how I’d describe the locals , and very friendly .
All in all , a very pleasant stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it .
