“Weekend Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We stayed at the Memmo Baleeira for 4 nights end of September and spent a really good time there. Nice personnel, clean and spaceious rooms with a nice view on the port and the ocean. We enjoyed the sun rise in the moring on the breakfast terrace. Food was also excellent. We had lunch and dinner almost very day in the hotel. We will definitely keep this hotel in mind for a longer weekend and to relax in the sun!

“Lovely Hotel.”

12 friends stayed at this hotel for two days B&B in January, a deal from Travelzoo. We had a great time. We hired the hotel bikes, it is so easy to cycle to Cape St Vincent, and well worth it. The beds and rooms were so comfortable and very warm. We had rooms overlooking the sea and harbour. The breakfast was lovely, plenty of variety, (awful coffee),The staff were very helpful and very polite, and spoke very good English. We didn't have dinner in the hotel, why is it always so expensive? A lot more people would eat in if it was more reasonably priced, We found great Portuguese restaurants nearby. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to relax in a lovely setting, the gardens were immaculate. The sunrise from the room was outstanding, worth getting up for!

“Peaceful with great sea view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Lovely room with balcony overlooking the fishing port and sea, very comfortable bed. Poorly designed bathroom - hair dryer behing the door, loo roll right under shower so would get wet immediately! The restaurant dinner was not at all good and lacked atmosphere - we had booked with reception (confirmed) but they did not have our reservation so, in spite of the restaurant being very empty, a fuss was made to find a table - an annoying habit in many places. Eat somewhere else. Breakfast was good.

Room Tip: One with sea view - worth the little extra

“Lovely hotel but a couple of pointers to note...”

My partner and I stayed at this hotel as part of a spa deal we got off Travelzoo. It was a very modern chic hotel, lovely bar and restaurant area. Gorgeous views of the sea, cliffs and harbour, we got a sea view room as promised. The staff were very friendly and polite and spoke good English. A very warm and helpful welcome was given when we checked in. Unfortunately the pool was not at a good temperature and the steam room and turkish bath room were out of order for the whole time we were there. We were told there had been a problem with the electricity but it was disapointing given part of the reason we had gone was for a spa weekend! The treatments we received in the spa were lovely and it was a very tranquil space. Be wary of hidden extras eg if you get given bread, olives etc at dinner its not free! It was added to our bill when we checked out, which we queried and the hotel did remove the price of this for us. There is a Chefs special each night - three courses - the main course is already chosen but you can choose starter and desert off the menu. Also includes one glass of wine and a tea/coffee all for 18euro. This was an excellent price and delicious. Food at the bar is also available on an evening, if you do this I can reccommend the garlic prawns off the tapas menu. Delicious! Sagres itself has lovely views of the sea. It was quiet with it being January and some restaurants were not open at night. You would be better to utilise the restaurants during the afternoon for some delicious food. I think in the Summer this would be a busier resort especially for activities such as scuba diving etc.

“Romantic place at the end of the Europe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We've been here few years ago and we liked so much that we choose this place for celebrating our wedding's anniversary this year. Arrived we received the unexpectable gift - the bottle of shampagne and strawberry with chocolate. It was really cute!
This hotel is the best appropriate for romantic events with all what is inside and around - great stuff, beautifull haven, balcon's view, SPA and all other things.
Every minute in this hotel was pleasure for us!
Thank you for everything, we are hoping to come back soon!
Inessa and Oleg.
