This is the first time we have stayed at the Coral Do Vau having previously stayed next door at the Jardim Do Vau on two occasions. Firstly value for money the Coral wiins hands down, an equivalent apartment cost 3 times the price in Jardim with the only real difference being the indoor pool and Restaraunt at the Jardim Do Vau, the two bed apt we had in Coral was slightly bigger and every bit as good with everything you would require should you wish to cook a meal etc,staff,particularly Maria at reception were always friendly and helpfull,rooms were well presented and spotlessly clean as was the pool area. lots of good restaraunts to choose from in the immediate area to suit all budgets, Pai Thomas on the hill overlooking the beach does the best chips and coldest beer with fantastic view included, for evening meals we mainly ate in Alvor with Ababuja being our favourite although fairly expensive. will certainly return and have no hesitation in recommending as a great family location.

We stayed in the Coral do Vau apartments two years running June 2007 and June 2008, we would return this year if we could find a package holiday that deal with Coral, after Style / Thomas Cook pulled the plug on them in 2008. The apartments are in a great location for a family holiday, with the lovely beach 50 yards away across the service road and 4 reasonable restuarants on the Doorstep, of which the Jacaranda is the pick of the bunch. The resort is a pleasant peaceful location compared to the nearby brash Praia Do Rocca. The apartments are roomy,clean and equipped with everything you need for a family holiday, The pool is in a sunny location but the water can be a bit to cool for my liking. Can thouroughly recommend a short bus ride into nearby Alvor to have a plate of barbercued Sardines and a carafe of house wine near the harbour. Top apartments top location if you prefer a quiter style of holiday.

We came to Coral do Vau Apartments for our family holiday. There were six adults and one infant.
We had three seperate apartments, all of which had a sea view which I would highly recommend!
Two of the three rooms were above the bars/restaurants but this caused no problems at all.
All apartments were spacious and clean. They all were equipped with everything you need, they even had washing machines and ironing boards!
Each apartment also had two balconies, one had sun loungers and the other had table and chairs.
The location was great, right opposite the sandy beach and within a 20 minute walk to Praia da Rocha and a 40 minute walk to Alvor.
There is also a bus stop right outside Coral do Vau with regular buses to Praia da Rocha, Portimao and Alvor.
We had several days out to Lagos and used a taxi which was very reasonable.
The bars/restaurants below served fantasic food, there was no need to travel into Praia da Rocha for meals! I especially recommend The Jacaranda Bar, which serves great snacks and lunches throughout the day and had a superb menu in the evening!
We had a great time at these apartments and would definately return, perhaps even next year!

Thought I would write a review of these apartments as they are one of the best we have stayed in and there are only a few reviews about them .We stay at these apartments at least once a year they are in a wonderful position right by the beach.Praia do vau is only small but there is every thing you need if you do not want to go far, but there is also a bus stop right out side the apartments which takes you into Rocha and Portimao.Also the taxis are very reasonable if you wish to go into Alvor or you can walk 20 mins into Rocha ,40 mins into Alvor.
The apts are spotlessly clean and if you have a problem if you tell them at reception they will try to rectify it. They are well equipped and have a washing machine but there is only a small oven but enough to cook a meal if you want. I would just say if you pay for a seaview tell them you do not want to be over the bar (unless you like loud music at 1am)
