We have been to the Algarve 17 times since 1972 and the 1972 visit was to this location and many times since. Once the standard is set this high it would be easy to let it slip but not Pestana. We stayed in the Atlantico for two weeks b & b and finished our holiday with a week half board in the Pestana Delfim.
Very hard to fault our stay in the Atlantico. We had a superb spacious room on the 10th floor with glorious sea views on two sides. The room could perhaps do with a makeover decor wise but this is a minor criticism. As other people have said, the staff were very helpful and friendly and the standard of cleanliness very high indeed. The kitchenette was very useful for snacks. Breakfast in the nearby Dom Joao hotel was very good and the restaurant staff are very friendly and extremely efficient.
If you wished to use the internet it was available but expensive. In my opinion it should be free to guests.

After leaving the Alvorferias hotel, coming to the Alvor Atlantic felt like pure luxury. We got a bargain deal and were very, very happy with our choice. The staff are lovely, really helpful particluarly the maids, and breakfast staff. Rooms were big and was nice to have a kitchenette too to make lunches etc if you wanted to, although after the breakfasts this was a rare occassion! Breakfasts were really good, with loads of choice and catered for all tastes, I was very impressed. Everywhere was clean and the pool looking out to sea was amazing, plenty of loungers and space. Don't know what else to say but would definitely come back here. Oh and I am well aware of how sad this sounds but after running out of money I was very glad to discover the TV's in the room had BBC1, ITV and Channel 4!!!!!!

We have literally just returned from a week at the Alvor Atlantico - the location of this property is second to none. The facilities whilst advertised as 4* would probably be described as 3* - all the property needs is a bit of revamping and updating but with the excellent weather the Algarve has on offer little time is spent in the room. The bedroom was however very spacious with a great sea view from two sides of the room. The Alvor Atlantico from a cleanliness point of view is excellent and room servicing every day was thorough. A downside maybe for some guests is that breakfast is serviced at a closeby hotel as is dinner - the Alvor Atlantico is purely accommodation but with great indoor pool facilties including a turkish bath & sauna. The majority of staff were very friendly and welcoming and as this is the first time we have participated in half board - the food at breakfast and dinner could not be faulted both from a selection and quality point of view.

We have just returned from a week at the Alvor Atlantic. The room was spacious and very clean with plenty of storage space. The staff were mostly helpful and friendly. The breakfast staff were particularly helpful and welcoming, the breakfasts themselves were plentiful with a wide variety. It was lovely to sit next to the sea to eat. The downside is we spoke to some elderly guests who found difficulty accessing the breakfast room as it is not within the hotel but '343 steps' we were told and the nearest bar is in the next hotel. We would definately go again, the indoor pool and gym are a plus and the outdoor pool is on the beach. Alvor is a lovely with lots of good eating places and music in the bars. Would recommend it to most people.
