Loved this little place and its location was perfect, incredibly central to town and beaches and yet very quiet. Would definitely stay here again!

“Very Impressed - Comfortable & Spacious etc...”

I stayed in the Casa Paula with my girlfiend for 3 nights towards the end of July 2011. On arrival I was suprised at how nice the apartement and courtyard was. The apartment was very spacious and the pool area/courtyard was lovely.
The apartment was situated a short walk from the main street and the beach. I had a car and was able to find parking down the street (FOC).
The staff were friendly but they did not have much English which wasnt a problem. The rooms had 2 single beds which were comfortable compared to the places we stayed previously in Portugal. There are also some good English channels if you wanted to keep the kids amused.
The kitchen facilities were fine, there was a fridge, kettle, toaster and a very old hob which had scratches all over it so you didnt know what level of heat you had on. There was no oven. We only really cooked breakfast and lunch in the apartment and ate out at night. One night we stayed we bought a BBQ from the supermarket and sat out by the pool and had a BBQ and a few beers which was nice.
To sum it up the Casa Paula was great, very central and by the sea which is what we wanted. Great value for money too. There are seagulls about but I am heavey sleeper so they didnt interupt my sleep.

“Tucked away in the Old Town and close to the beaches”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

We stayed in Casa Paula for 5 nights and overall enjoyed our stay at these apartments

Location really great - only 5 minutes from the center of the old town, which although pretty touristy isn't too 'twee' and tidy! There's a good buzz in the evenings with lots of nationalities and types wondering the streets and enjoying the street entertainers, restaurants and bars and it felt safe and nonthreatening

The apartment we stayed in was very clean and roomy although the fitments were rather rickety and tired. Also found that the twin beds had bed heads attached to the wall - but not to the beds so they tended to 'travel' - very odd and not very romantic at all!!!

The fridge was rather noisy in the night too but there is free Air Con, included which worked a treat. The unit was cleaned on the 3rd day and all towels changed

We appreciated the plunge pool on the lower level terrace and the upper terrace was great for breakfasting on and enjoying the interesting and picturesque views

Site personnel were friendly enough and when we reported accidentally breaking two glass tumblers, were assured that there was no need to pay for them - all in all we were happy with the accommodation here for the price we paid

“Gorgeous authentic little place with lovely little touches”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2010

I stayed here on a girls week away in July. We were really impressed with the apartment rooms, everything you could! The kitchen came in handy as the roof terrace is gorgeous, overlooking Lagos old town and the ocean, so we saved money a couple of nights by preparing our own food, and drinking the local rosé on the balcony. The swimming pool was small, but all you need really for a dip at the end of the day as the beaches nearby are just amazing. The staff were nice and friendly but don't really speak English, but this just added to the authenticity of the holiday! Would definitely go back.

“great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2010

Use telephone number to announce when you're arriving. Owner speaks english but the cleaning lady doesn't, at all. Location is good for walking to the beach, and going into the old town of Lagos.
Rooms are very clean but very basic. Good beds, Fresh linen every 3 days.Good bathroom. Kitchen very very basic and kitchen-cabinets in studio #5 smell a bit moldy but we hardly ever used the kitchen. ( two electric plates) There are loads of cheap restaurants in the vicinity. Studio #5 is downstairs so you can sit on patio outside your door, but other studios don't have private seating. Apartment upstairs has it's own rooftop terras, all other places have a communal rooftop with amazing views.
There's a small pool for a quick dip.
