Cannot beat the location across the street from Meia Praia beach. It's important to have more chairs by the pool.
The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.

Stayed for a week with my sister (girls in our 30's!). Self catering, one bed apartment. Guests were mixtures of couples, families and some friends (have classes us as friends rather than family). Mix of ages. Not suitable for groups of teens, groups looking for a party place.
ROOM good size, kitchenette fairly basic but we ate out eat night. If eating in, cooking would be limited. (2 rings).
Beds were ok. Not the greatest quality mattress though!
No air con in room and no fans available to hire. A shame as some nights it was quite warm!
FOOD at the hotel was limited and mostly cheaper snacks. I'd recommend asking for a toastie without butter! (cheap marg). Coffee, (2 for 3.50euros(2 halves for 3 euros) and ice cream (a couple of euros each) all available.
STAFF were friendly and pleasant. All spoke English if you don't speak Portuguese.
POOL good set in pleasant garden. No music and plenty of shade. If you want noise, this isn't the place for you!
BEACH is over the road and although lovely sand and shallow water, this is the windsurfing beach so quite windy. There IS shade and loungers are available but the parasols are small and don't offer much shade. Don't know how much they cost-didn't use them.
TOWN is a brisk 20 minute walk or a half hour stroll away. Plenty of restaurants in Lagos to choose from.
RESTAURANT over the road from hotel is good quality but a more expensive option (if you're on a budget) excellent piece of tuna steak for 15 Euros.
Hotel suggested the Pingu SUPERMARKET but we used the smaller one on the main road near the marina: Intermarche. It'll do and is en route when going into the town.
We didn't have TRANSPORT and walked everywhere which was fine. Walk to and from hotel and town was fairly well lit but wouldn't want to do it alone as the hotel is in a very quiet area.
I would definitely recommend a trip to the GROTTOs. Bom Dia do a 1 and a half hour trip for 15 euros (there are other options) this is an excellent trip though and very good value.
I stupidly left my glasses in the hotel room whilst scrambling to get an early flight. Reception were wonderful and sent my glasses back to me via recorded delivery with no extra charge.
Other than that the accommodation is basic, but clean. If you're not too fussy and are looking for a good value place to stay - this is it!
The hotel is in a good location for Maia Praia beach and not too far from Lagos which are both good. I booked this hotel for a really cheap price (I think around £35 a night), but it really wasn;t even worth that. The "kitchens" were very poorly stocked, missing various esentials like a kettle, and bottle opener, the hobs didnt work properly and the pans over-heated and bent when you tried to use them. There was no air con, and the rooms' sea views were only visable if you tried to push your head a metre over the balcony to look over the side! The bed mattresses are very thin and more like camping mattresses.
If you're after cheap then ideal, if you want any level of comfort then dont bother. The place was drastically understaffed and the few staff I did see were stressed and made you feel like you were adding to thier stress, they were not friendly. There is no internet, no parking space and no information in the rooms about local amenities.
No confort....
Very bad fridge...
Very noisy...
Old....
Poor assistance....
Bad "ambiance"...
