we've just finished travelling round europe and had a great time here! Good clean rooms at reasonable prices...we managed to get a discount, try your luck! right in the centre so a bit noisy, though as we were part of it we didnt mind, saved on taxis! great town, great beaches and basically fun times in this central hostel.

Stayed here in early July 2007 for 3 nights. We have stayed in all kinds of derelict little places in our backpacking life, and so we can tolerate a lot, but this place is horrible! If you choose to stay here, be prepared for dirty rooms which never get cleaned (our blanket actually smelled like urine), management that doesn't care (the toilet in the shared bathroom did not flush and we asked them to fix it 3 times, and they never did until we left 3 nights later), and above all non-stop noise. There is a restaruant and a club right downstairs from this place, and people choose to get together and yell under your widnow until 5 or 6am, with non-stop loud drunken noise every single night, all night long. We didn't sleep at all because of this. The only good thing I can say about the place is that it is very close to a very nice beach.

So I'd say, unless you are one of the college drunken frat party animals who is going to be up until 5am every night anyways, and don't mind the dirt, don't stay here under any circumstance.

We stayed at the Rubi-Mar several years ago and loved it. We went back this month and were very disappointed. While our room had a balcony with a decent view of the sea, everything else about the room was intolerable. New owners took over the residencial about a year ago, and I think the former owners took the housekeeper with them. The floors were filthy, the furniture covered in a thick layer of dusk, the shower curtains moldy, and I'm not sure the sheets or towels were clean. Our room was not cleaned once during the three nights we stayed there -- when the trash filled up or we ran out of toilet paper, we had to ask to get help. And long gone was the breakfast in bed that I remembered -- despite the statements to the contrary on their web page, there was no breakfast served. The only thing positive that I can say is that the owner did not give us a problem when we cut our stay two nights short. (My only regret is that we didn't leave earlier!)

This place is awsome. So close to all the fun. We found it on lagos free site, took a chance and booked it. We were not dissapointed. Would recommend Rubi Mar and Lagos to anyone.
