We went in the off season so we got a 2 bedroom apartment for a bargain price with the most amazing views. We were lucky to get an apartment that looked directly out over the ocean, some of the other apartments wouldn't have such good views. We arrived late at night which was a little scary as there was nobody around, we finally managed to locate the security guard who had the keys for us. My friend got the good room (grumble, grumble!), so I was stuck sleeping in a tiny single bed that was pretty uncomfortable. But all that was forgotten when I looked out over the ocean from the lovely verandah! Abit of a hike up the hill to get there as well.

Rocked up to the iber late one evening and was met by a security guard and a Dubliner in shorts. Was handed an envelope containing a key and directed to my new abode along with the advice that the front desk would be open sometime the following day.Of such inauspicious starts are lovely holidays sometimes made.
Had booked a two bed apartment for a great price and was not expecting the Ritz but I was pleasantly surprised when i saw the very large terrace with sea view, the big bedrooms , the two bathrooms and the well stocked open plan kitchen. Bring your own pillows if possible because the ones supplied are abit crap.
The grounds of the complex are neat and include a pool, snackbar and further down a great beach straight out of fantasy island.
A scary cliff walk takes you along other beaches and towards town and the very nice cafe do mar.
The Fun Cafe snackbar in the complex gives good espresso and has great wifi. Owners very friendly and fix up a mean burger.
Lagos is a nice chilled out town which is lovely to walk around.

Fantastic location. Easy walk down/up and from Dona Ana beach (not good for pushchairs though). Great sea views from some rooms and the pool. Short walk to Lagos town centre (approx 5mins) either down main road or through back streets by firestation (nicer walk). Loads of places to eat in Lagos to suit any budget. About 20 mins walk from pont de piedade which is amazing and well worth the effort. Walk back along the cliffs once you've got your bearings from there.

Iberlagos was a lovely and perfect place to stay, it is not far from the old town only 5-10mins walk which is nice to build up an apitie for all the lovely food in the old town.

We booked the apartments privately through www.portugalapt.com which meant we had a perfect seaview and pool view. But be warned not all of the apartments on other website's have a sea view as they are in blocks so you could be facing another block.

I would advise anyone booking to check this first if that is the reason you would like to stay in Iberlagos. Our apartment had everything we needed basic but for all the time we were there. Iberlagos is also close to doing costal walks which are lovely. There is a few nice cheap local retaurants nearby one is called Trinade which was so cheap and nice we went back again. Turn left once you come out from the apts onto the main road and it is just beside the camp site. Steak, egg, chips and rice 4 euro 50 and fish, chips, salad & rice 4 euro 70, for nothing a large beer was 70c and a jug or wine 3 euro.

Lagos itself is such a nice town has everything there you need, nightlife, lovely retaurants with so much fresh seafood. I recommend doing the boat trip with the small boats only 10 euro each for 45mins around the grotos plus you get your own private small boat, cheaper compared to the bigger companys. There is also many other trips and the bus station is in the town so you can visit other nearby towns.
