“5 star comfort in quality hotel”

We stayed here in towards the end of November and had a great stay despite the indifferent weather. We opted for one of the luxury one bed apartments overlooking the pool which was absolutely wonderful. The kitchen was kitted out with quality appliances, none of which had been used before. The bathroom was expensively finished, spacious, with three separate sinks, shower and jacuzzi. There was a spacious lounge with satellite TV, a lovely covered terrace overlooking the pool and a well-furnished bedroom. All this came with air conditioning/heating.

The hotel itself is extraordinary with themed rooms in Asia, Africa, South America and Europe styles. We were given a tour of all the rooms and I must say the design and quality of the finish was superb. The Presidential penthouse is sensational.

We were warmly greeted and offered a beautiful cocktail at the bar which was painstakingly crafted before our very eyes by a young apprentice barman.

There were few people here at this time of year and we didn't dine in the restaurant but I have to say that this hotel complex represents excellent value for money and would definitely revisit another time.

“Great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We stayed here in September with our 9 month old in September and had a great stay. We had one of the apartments overlooking the pool which was absolutely wonderful. the hotel itself is very nice although not complete. There are some pro's and con's but the pro's in general far outweigh the cons and we would definitely come back and recommend the hotel to couples or families. I hope that we could book next year if the prices haven't risen as the apartments very competitively priced when compared to other similar accommodation in the area.

Firstly and foremost I have to mention the staff - any short coming the hotel has where completely made up for by the staff who went out of the way at all times to do everything to make our stay as best as possible, especially as we were travelling with a baby for the first time were requesting all manor of (stupid..) requests which the hotel were very happy to help us with.

The site location is very nice, on the edge of the cliffs and the hotel itself is very nicely equipped. The hotel is not complete so I imagine that next year when the landscaping is complete that the entire area will look very well. It is a little far away from Laogs however it is only a 20 minute walk which we did several nights. As it wasn't too busy when we were there the hotel arranged transport into town for us on several occasion which was really above and beyond what you would normally expect. They also dropped us off at, and collected us from, the supermarket which was such a nice touch. I expect this is because the services such as shop etc aren't in place yet but it was appreciated,

The apartment was really well furnished and considering we had a young baby it was very safe. We were completely relaxed in letting her run around without worrying about her getting hurt. There was acres of space, a huge jacuzzi bath, proper double bed and large veranda. Overall I must say it was one of the nicest apartments / hotel rooms I've stayed in.

I'd recommend trying the hotel restaurant at least once. The food was delicious, much better than I expected and one of the best meals of our holidays. We had breakfast one morning which was also very nice but overpriced at 20 euro a head.

There is a couple of beaches within easy access. One off the cliffs which you can walk down too. We couldn't manage to get down but it looked clean and secluded. The second is about 15 minutes walk, down hill there to the main beach of porto mos.

Overall it is one the nicest place I've stayed in, otherwise I wouldn't bother with the review but this hotel really deserves it.

“Excellent. We loved it”

We stayed in September for a week and loved it so much we came back for another stay in October. Everything here is just so relaxing and peaceful, from the fantastic pool to the spacious rooms and the lovely food in the restaurant. We hope standards stay this high and are already planning another trip here in March or April. Thanks to all the gracious, friendly staff for making our time at cascade so lovely.

Room Tip: Pay a bit extra for a sea view room. The view on the other side is not so great

Our family of 5 stayed here at the beginning of Oct and wished we had stayed there a lot longer. The villa was so spacious with an amazing bathroom(once you had worked out the 4 shower controls!) Pools gorgeous...staff wonderful and friendly and cocktails amazing. We would all go back there without hesitation.

Room Tip: Villas are the way to go though they dont do room service- 2 min walk to main area where you can pic...

“A really fine place”

Built almost at the edge of the falaise, overlooking an expanse of green and the sea, you cannot easily beat the Cascade for location, at least in the crowded Algarve coast. Plus, the place is new, well built and tastefully set-up: the room we had was large, well furnished and comfortable, with a big secluded verandah, which is almost a room in itself and it is very good to have if the wind is blowing too hard. We stayed in the off-season period, and the resort was wonderfully calm and relaxed: the feeling was of a place well managed, with a competent and responsive staff. They have a big pool , with good poolside beds and umbrellas and with an efficient service: should you tire of it, there are one or two wonderful beaches within half a mile, at the foot of the cliffs, which are a bit difficult to reach but definitely worth it. In the period we stayed, we went there almost every day and we mostly had the beach to ourselves. Try to have a room which looks on to the sea: it costs a bit more, but the view on the landward side is pretty dismal.

Room Tip: Have one that looks on to the sea
