The hotel is fairly pleasant, I would say 3.5 stars. The staff on the whole were nice and the hotel had a shop, gym and spa.
We had no problems with the room
The entertainment was minimal and the hotel is situated out of town. €6 to get to "the strip".
The food unfortunately was at best luke warm and at busy times the food ran out. Watch out for the serving spoons which were hotter than the sun.
Also, if you like Wi-Fi there is none which was irritating, only one computer at the reception charged at €1 for 15mins, also you will need to fork out a deposit for the safe in your room(€4.50 a day) and the beach towels €10 each.
If you are looking for a hotel that is quiet, has lots of sun loungers and a good pool then this is for you.
If you want entertainment or a famy resort this is not for you. However the singer on a Friday night was vey good.

Stayed here in may 2009.loved it so sent parents in may 2011. rooms very modern. cleaned regularly. the only fault was it is out of town but hotel provide free regular bus. best holiday been on for a very cheap price!

My friend and I have just returned from a 4 night break at the Balaia Atlantico, this wasn't the hotel we had booked originally, but due to a systems error we were moved from there sister hotel The Paraiso. The Hotel itself was Lovely, the rooms were cleaned daily and they were very spacious. we did however have to ask for clean towels on our last night.. We went self catering which I wouldn't recommend due to the location of the Hotel and the fact that the supermarket on site sold very basics i.e milk bread butter water etc. If you don't mind hotels that have nothing around them then this is the hotel for you, we asked at the reception desk how long it would take to walk into the main area, with which we were told 30 mins, we tried this one afternoon and it actually took an hour, there is a bus service which runs Monday to Friday 4 times a day, but unfortunatley not in the evenings. We did get taxis however in the evening and the prices ranged from 7 to 8 euros. Now down to the hotel prices, drinks around the pool 5.50 for 2 small beers, 1.50 for a small bottle of water so get one from the shop it's only 50 cents. At night whilst waiting for a taxi we were disappointed with the lobby bar, on night one no draft beer so we pay 7 euros for 2 bottles of local beer, night 2 no draft or local bottle beer so we pay 9 euros for for 2 carona. night 3 we managed to get draft beer at 4 euros for 2, now the price differance between the pool bar and lobby bar was a little bit differant to say the least. Balaia hotel management please sort out your bar tarriffs and availability. Taking all my comments into account if you are all inclusive and don't want to venture out of your hotel then this is the hotel for you. If on the other hand nightlife and resort location is a priority then this most definatley isn't the hotel for you.

spent a week in this hotel, i cant really fault the hotel...rooms where great big and clean. the pool was big and at times empty no trouble geting a sunbed anytime, the poolside bar was great beer was god and snacks on the go all day, hotel resaurant was busy at times but well run and no trouble with anyone skipping in staff where very good and food was above avrage for an all inc hotel, as for all inc drinks,,there was no problem geting drinks beer or soft drinks nothing was a bother, the bar staff where friendly and i would like to say a special thanks to ana marachiona, prob wrong spelling. she was very pleasant and always a smile on her face, as where all the staff,, my only downside was the nite entertainment it was pretty poor at times...one guy singing and playing keyboard was more intrested in his facebook page, but saying that it didnt waste our holliday, just wanted a quiet week way and that is what we got. so for me marks out off ten i would def give ten and if i had a week away again wouldnt mind going back. if you want a walk there is a smll pub resuarant 5 mins walk from the hotel turn right at main gate cut across the field, we ate there one night, fantastic and a wee change from the hotel, so to all staff abreggado gustamos pronto
