We just returned from our vacation at a townhouse on the estate of Pine Cliffs Resort. This holiday is priced at Sheraton-level and for that price clearly below standard. We called every single day about something that was either broken, missing or defect. The dishwasher, the lightling, the heating, .... This place really needs some maintenance, tiles were broken, lamp-caps burnt and the place was just dirty. The cleaner came in every day but did not more than tending to the beds and towels, there was dust all over the furniture, the kitchen remained unclean.
The hotel had just reopened, but the Spa area still suffered from much of the above.
And then the staff: we have Never before come across such unfriendly people that made you feel unwelcome. No hellos or greetings, no please, no apologies for the inconvenience and a general sense of being totally non-committed to help. The very worst of all was Patricia at the reception of the Pine Cliffs Residence. Incredibly, brutally impolite.
The grounds are well kept, and the golfing area is stunning.
But the lift to the beach didn't work most of the time, and when it did we wondered whether to risk it. The sleeping wasn't great either: they hadn't bothered turning the matresses in a loooong time so there was basically a hollow center in which to sleep. Never mind trying to turn around.
We asked to hire a car and they offered us a rate that was 20% more expensive than the rate we found by bothering to compare: with the same agency.... But probably without the Sheraton commission.
Go if you want to pay a lot of money and only care about golf. If
