“Lovely hotel with great views and beach”

My husband and I stayed at the Oura-Vew Beach Club during a suprise visit to see grandparents who were staying for 6 weeks. The hotel was very clean and tidy, and our 1 bedroom apartment was very spacious. The kitchenette had everything we needed abeit the oven took a long time to work and was not very big. We had a large balcony which offered a beautiful view of the bay. The swimming pool looked gorgeous but it was not heated and therefore far too cold to take a dip but it would be great in the summer, there was an indoor pool but we didn't get around to trying it out. The hotel has direct access to the beach which was big and clean (in the summer I would imagine it would be packed) and there were a few coffee bars with seating overlooking the bay. Those seeking a more sociable break might be more suited to the CPO hotel across the road where there was outdoor bowls and generally more going on but the Oura-View suited us perfectly as we wanted peace and quiet. We were suprised at the lack of bars and restaurants that were open in the evening, but as we were self catering, this was not a problem. You can walk into Albureira in about 15/20 mins but it is a steep climb up a hill on the way back, there is a little train which goes back and forth and the tickets only cost about 1euro50 (think the train runs every 20 mins until about 10pm. The 'strip' is definately geared up for the english seeking cheap drinks in sports bars and I suspect that the place takes on a different identity in the summer evenings and I should imagine the area becomes very busy and loud. I would recommend Oura-View for couples seeking tranquility in the winter sun. All in all, a very pleasant stay in a spacious and clean hotel with friendly staff.

Room Tip: Best views are from the higher floors

“Beaches and Views to die for.”

We have just arrived back from two weeks in the Beach Club, it should really be rated excellent, the only thing holding me back from this is the internet that we expected to get in our room was not working.
This is a great hotel with a lovely outside pool, also a great inside pool and Jacuzzi etc.
It is set in the most beautiful area with beaches and views to die for.
This is a much quieter Hotel than C.P.O its sister hotel, and is ideal for couples that are looking for sun ,lovely surroundings, and lazy days.
The Apartment we had was fantastic, air-conditioning, even a dish washer.
Can really recommend a stay.
.

Room Tip: Higher floors have good sea views.

Me and my boyfriend found this holiday on groupon so got a fantastic deal! We were so pleased with our apartement and we also really enjoyed the food at the hotel restraunt especially for the prices we were paying very cheap! My brother and his girlfriend also stayed at the oura view beach club but they were looky enough to be staying in room 502 were the view was unreal overlooking everything the pool, sea it was just lovely and waking up to the lovely weather each day very pleased! We are all coming back next year as my boyfriend won another stay at this hotel on the kareoke so if possible we will be asking for that room or one on the same floor! We couldnt doubt our stay here only that we are young and it isnt very lively at this time of year but we was only expecting this anyway! We would definatly recomend this to anyone of all ages though such a real nice place!

“You will find it hard to beat”

I am writing this whilst still at the OVBC, I have nothing but praise, I have had an enforced stay due to my husband being taken into hospital, and everyone has been amazing, any help I have asked for, extending my stay, help extending my car hire, faxing the UK and receiving faxes from the Insurance Company, nothing has been too much trouble. The rooms are good despite major redecoration work taking place it has not interferred in our enjoyment of our stay. One huge advantage for us (not so good for the resort) is that it is very quiet, due to the time of year, but the weather is fantastic, brilliant sunshine during the day, and not too chilly in the evening, although a jacket is needed.

Excellent location
Excellent Staff
Excellent facilities

We will have no hesitation in returning (out of season mind you, can't cope with the school holidays!!)

“One of the best locations”

As always when using a Trip Advisor review, it is wise to read a good number, try and filter out the petty complaints and then hopefully end up with a balanced view.

We had a nine day stay here at the end of Nov-beginning Dec, and could not find fault with it. Yes, they are generally timeshare appartments, yes, there is a gap between the hotel itself and this complex and yes there is a small hill or two that may make wheelchair pushers huff & puff a little, but this is far outweighed by the fantastic location. When a hotel says 'on the beach' this can mean anything up to half a mile away, but in this case it is....and it's own beach at that. It is truly beautiful and if you are lucky enough to get a sea view, it is magnificent. We didn't at first...we had a lovely one bedroomed appartment, but it was permanently in the shade. As the weather was unseasonably hot and sunny, I thought it worthwhile asking about a change. The staff were superb, and arranged a move to another, sunnier location and even sent a belboy to help with the luggage.

Appartments are comfortable without being swish. Our one bedroomed flat had a good sized living room with full kitchen and a nice dining area. Flat screen TV and clean, functional furniture. These are 4 berth, with a bed settee in the living room so that may be a squeeze with four adults. We also booked breakfast each day, but if we return we wouldn't bother with this again. There is nothing wrong with it, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon & beans on the hot servery, plus cold meats and cheese along with cereals etc, but we would probably just have a light brekkie in the appartment and avoid temptation! Great value though...if prebooked only around 5 euros a day. There is also an option to upgrade to half board quite cheaply, but in our view it is better to eat out. There is an abundance of restaurants on the 'strip' just a couple of hundred meters away and all offer great three course tourist menus for around 10 euros, normally including a beer or a glass of wine.

The walk into Albufeira is a good 20mins, or a half hour stroll, and again this is very pleasant with good vaue eateries around the square. Maybe it was just because it was out of season, but the restaurants want your business so prices are very low.

The bar at the hotel is quite good, with sports on TV and happy hours in the bar, when a beer is only 1.5 euros. Also free wifi in the bar area is a big bonus if you have a tablet or laptop. If you are a gym user as we are, there is a good gym in the sister hotel, a short walk away, with excellent equipment incuding rowers, cycles, weight bay and a treadmill.

All in all, we couldn't fault it, paying as we did around £350 for nine days B&B for two people in a one bedroomed appartment. Staff were superb....polite and helpful at all times. The complex was very clean and tidy and as I said, the location outstanding. We would not hesitate to return here. Just one thing to note ref hire cars. We hired online picking up from Faro airport and the hire firms now pre charge you for a full tank, bring the car back empty. In our case using it over nine days we got value for money, but if your break is a short one you are unlikely to use a lot of fuel so will end up taking the car back half full...a big waste of money. Check with the operator first, but we were told this is now the norm.

Room Tip: When booking ask for a sea view. Some appartments are in the shade a lot of the day, so it is worth...
