“fantastic for families”

we have just returned from a week at the holiday village and would struggle to fault any aspect of our experience. It was the first holiday we have had abroad with our two year old and not the sort of holiday we would usually opt for, but had a fantastic time in a resort that really does cater for all ages.

The room we had was a good size and cleaned to a satisfactory level daily by pleasant maids. The food was not as good as we have had on previous holidays but was still of a reasonable standard and some dishes varied daily.

The first choice staff were on hand all of the time and were very friendly and helpful whenever encountered- front of house and entertainment staff alike. The facilites and activities for children of all ages was plentiful and of good standard and variety. We do not partake in using creche facilities with such a small child but did venture in for a nose and discovered yet again very friendly staff with plenty of activities for a minimal fee.

The pools were all very cold as they are not heated but if this is going to spoil your fun on holiday you need a slap quite frankly! There are plently of full size pools and two paddling pools, aswell as a variety of slides and a water feature park.

Evening entertainment was something we didnt experience fully with our son sticking roughly to his usual bedtimes but from what we can gather off other guests there was plenty of it and yet again- great fun/variety etc.

all in all we would definately recommend this place and may visit another Holiday Village next year whilst the boy is still to young to join us on our traditional travels/adventures.

Room Tip: room 1-118 and 120 are above sports bar so tables/chairs moving can be heard until 0130

“Family holiday to Algarve holiday village”

We are literally just back from a wonderful weeks holiday at the holiday village in the Algarve. Everything from the flights, transfers, hotel, holiday reps and hotel staff were simply fantastic. My two kids (10) and (8) had an absolute ball culminating in them being covered in chocolate on the last night via the choco party. The food was of a reasonable standard with a varied selection of hot meals and cold buffet, although some nights were better than others, however, edible and plentiful. Lots of activities to keep kids and adults alike entertained and if you wanted to chill out by the pool the kids were entertained by the superb and energetic staff. You also get 1 night at both the Italian and Portuguese restaurants , of which we thoroughly enjoyed the Italian ,couldnt comment on the other as we missed out on a reservation. ALL in all we had a truely fantastic holiday, aided by fabulous weather, excellant staff and very happy children, will return to a holiday village next year.

“Great time”

I was concerned from what I had read on here that the food would be bad but was quite please when I got there. It is a buffet style so obviously not the highest standard but the quality on the whole was very good with a wide selection that changed all the time. We went with a 15 month old baby as well and the selection for him on the whole was very good.

The hotel was clean and the apartment we had in block 1 was clean and spacious and very good. All staff were very friendly and helpful and the creche was very good too. Not really much I could mark the place down on. The local beach was very nice and about 15 mins walk with a pram. The best thing was probably the splash pool for the baby.

Room Tip: Block 1 is probably better in the fact that it is at the top of the slope which everyone talks about...

“Great Holiday in Balaia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

We spent two weeks here at the Falcon / First Choice Holiday Village (Alto de Colina - Balaia - Portugal) in August with our sons (7 year old and 1 year old). This village has everything for the children and we found the creche very handy for our 1 year old so we could spend time with our 7 year old at the night time entertainment. This entertainment was enjoyable with a lot of work put in by the entertainment team. We have stayed at a number of these holiday villages over the last few years and this one is one of the better ones with spacious apartments and the whole village is kept spotlessly clean at all times. The holiday reps were excellent in all areas and worked very hard to keep everyone entertained. Our 7 year old enjoyed the water slides, the Soccer Academy and the high ropes course as well as some of the activities at the kid's club. We were self catering so we had dinner in local restaurants in the evenings. We did eat in the Holiday Village on a few occasions but food quality was not great. We had hired a car for the 2 weeks so getting around was easy for us and we would recommend a visit to Zoomarine, it is a fantastic day out for the family.

Room Tip: Apartments in Building 1 (Colina 1) are closer to main pool, children's activity areas, kid'...
