“Excellent apartments”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

Have stayed here twice and very happy both visits. Not the newest of apartments but extremely clean, comfortable and good facilities, friendly staff and large large apartments. If you book a studio they are only located on the ground floor, but we really enjoyed this as we could just walk straight out to the pool area every morning so we hardly wore any day clothes as we could easily walk to a sunbed in our bikini etc!!! Apartments are all on higher floors and are the biggest apartments we have ever seen!!! We loved the location because it is situated half way between 'the strip' (which is lively and a bit younger) and half way between the old town which is absolutely fab, the old town is fantastic, hundreds of gorgeous restaurants spoilt for choice and the old town is so lovely, still lively but very very nice and can be whatever you want it to be quiet, lively anything really. You can eat in a different restaurant every night and still not get round everywhere! The aqua park is fantastic great day out. This is one of our best holidays ever, this is why we returned again and will return in the future, excellent.

I own one of the apartments at this hotel. They are supposed to pay me 2,908.44 EUR rent every six months, but they currently owe me 10,906.65 EUR in unpaid rent.

“NOT self catering apartments”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We had 2weeks at these apartments and found them very clean and spacious. We could not fault the accommodation but it was not self catering as described. Unfortunately the pool area is rented out to a different company so they do not allow you to eat or drink anything that has not been purchased from the bar.
The reason we choose self catering is because we like to make our lunch in our apartment an bring it to the pool area to enjoy outdoors, or make a cup of tea or cold drink and bring it down. If you were seen eating or drinking anything of your own the bar staff would come and tell you off which was very embarrassing! The woman who worked in the bar was the most miserable person you could ever meet.
So you had to go and hide in your room if you wanted to eat anything at all which made it very hard if the kids wanted fruit or a packet of crisps we all had to go up to our room and come back down when we were done. For this reason we would not stay at these apartments again

“Great location, good sized apartment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

We stayed here for 2 weeks in August and are 3 girls in our 20's. The apartment was very spacious and much bigger than others I have stayed in. We had a studio apartment on the ground floor by the pool, we would have prefered a higher floor as couldnt sit out on the balcony as was totally shaded but saying that it meant we only had to walk a few steps to the pool. I found the beds to be rather uncomfy and there were only 2 beds the third bed was a camp bed which was REALLY uncomfy as you felt every slat under your back as the mattress was so thin! I couldnt fault the rest of the apartment though, good sized bathroom and living area with nice chairs and a large dining table.

We never had a problem getting sunloungers. We ate in the poolside bar quite a bit but found drinks there quite expensive. Reception staff were always extremely helpful whenever we wanted information.

The location is walking distance from the new town. We always got taxi's to the old town which were around 4euros as walking that far in heels wasnt an option! The hotel would call them for us and there is a taxi rank in the old town for the returns. It was our first time in Portugal and we loved it! We prefered the old town to new and liked the restaurants, shops and bars much more.

The guests were a total mix-some groups, some couples and families. On the whole it was a good place to stay and not really any negatives. We are planning on going back in June but will stay nearer the old town.

“Great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

We wanted a week away as a family (our children are 21 and 22) and our daughter found a good deal on the Clube Oceano.
We'd never been to Portugal but the price persuaded us to give it a go.
What a find !
The location was perfect, a short walk to the beach, 10 minutes walk to the strip and about 15 minutes to the Old Town. There are 2 bars / cafes and a small supermarket next door.
The very clean apartment on the second floor was plenty big enough for us all.
Other reviews have said that a higher floor gives a better view, but a lower floor gives a bigger balcony, which suited us.
The staff were mostly very good, except for one woman on reception who clearly didn't know how to smile and wasn't at all helpful when we wanted information about a bus to visit Vilamoura.
Even though the hotel was not busy, there were only just enough sunbeds. Unless they bring out more beds in the high season, be prepared to get out very early, or go to the beach.
We will definitely consider going back for a longer stay

Room Tip: High floors have better view, low floors have more space
