My partner and I stayed for two weeks in September 2011 and had a most enjoyable stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room allocated to us was not to our taste and we were moved to a room we preferred with no fuss. Breakfast on the roof-top terrace was very pleasant and to supplement the continental breakfast both bacon and eggs were available at a small charge. This was a treat though as the breakfast provided was more than adequate. We had booked half-board and on arrival were told the hotel restaurant was closed and our meal would be served in the Bank Restaurant just across the road. I had a bad feeling that we would be treated as the poor relations there but the opposite was the case. Our menu was extensive and the restaurant staff were very friendly. This was much better than the usual buffet would have been. We know Albufeira well and picked the California because of its location.we were not disappointed and it was great to have everything on our doorstep. We will happily be going back.

If you want night lift, then this is the perfect place.

situated on the main street of the old town, its perfectly placed for resturants, bars and the old square. it is also 2 mins walk to the beach.

We stayed here for five days off season and loved every minute. The staff were friendly, even though we didn't need to go to reception, The pool area was nice although we wished we did go for a swim and the breakfast was lovely.

stayed at this hotel again,for 10 days this time, from end of september til early october with a friend. Its location is ideal as you are near everything: restaurants, shopping, bars, cafes and the beach. What more could one ask for. Some people give out over the noise from the nite clubs at night,but as the location is so central, you cant have it every way. The hotel staff were so nice and friendly. Breakfast was lovely. There was plenty to eat. As I've said before I could not fault this hotel. This has been my fourth time staying there.
