“Accomodation booked with 40 winks”

Prior to our arrival I requested a quiet room sea view room which was not confirmed.
On arrival at the hotel I was informed there were no sea view rooms available although the hotel has 1322 rooms. !! We were given a room Jasmine block 012. This apartment gets no sun all day which for me was not a problem. The rooms are clean and well decorated. Beware of the privilege card which offers 10% discount on food and drinks I bought a brandy, coffee and port at Cafe Latte which is part of the sister hotel and was charged 12.50 euros. The price in the bars restaurants locally was 2.50 for a brandy/coffee and 2.50 for port. There are numerous places to eat and drink which are cheap. (Cheers bar and the Indian next door). The happy buffet Chinese restaurant is also great value the price is 12.95 for all you can eat. Superb. Central planet in Albuferia is also great value with large portions. If you venture to Villamoura marina try Figos and the sardines. The deal is sardines and a small bottle of wine for 7.50 euros
The hotel overall is well kept and the grounds are well looked after. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
If you book your reservation on a promotion then expect to sit through a presentation which in my case lasted one and a half hours even though I made it clear I would not buy or rent anything.
The resort is very quite at this time of year with most businesses closed. The strip is very busy during the summer months

Room Tip: Request a sea view and get confirmation before arrival.

“Try, again and again...!”

The grounds are impecable and well kept. The food in the JAC restaurant is monotonous and tasteless. The New Year Eve food was TERRIBLY BAD and very EXPENSIVE. Never again. In this Hotel they are only interested in taking your MONEY.

Don't accept first choice of accomodation because they are getting rid of the bad ones first.
It took us 4 choices before we found the right place and we were ataying for 6 weeks!!!

“AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We booked 2 nights here and asked for maid service the first day, nothing happened. Second day she knocked the door but we were getting ready, so i rang the reception and asked them to send her back to us after we left. They said that would be okay. We got back that evening, nothing had been done. We should haven't done, but we booked to stay a third night, visited reception and paid, asked for maid service the third day and came back late evening to find nothing had been cleaned or changed, but we'd acquired the BIGGEST YELLOW HOTEL LAUNDRY BAG you ever did see chucked into our apartment!!! I immediately rang reception to find that they hadn't got us down as booking a third night but thought we'd checked out (even though all our stuff was round the apartment)! IT's the first time I've paid to stay somewhere who in return has used our room for their storage stuff!!!

To be fair the manager apologised and said he would send us linen or move us to another room but it was late evening and we just wanted to relax and chill out...not pack our bags and move out. So I suggested to him some drinks as an apology for all our hassle and none-cleaning over 3 nights but he 'shouted no we don't do that'. So basically, I feel that the above behaviour was unprofessional and wish now that I'd demanded my money back for the third night.

In fact, our trip was a fact finding operation for a family holiday later this year, where 25 of us will be visiting The Algarve, for an important family celebration....needless to say we haven't shortlisted you, Clube Praia Da Oura!!! You've got your manager on duty the night the 26 January to thank for that because if he had of treated us right after al this, after all, things go wrong, we expect that, but it's how you deal with problems that's key. Say no more.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room without a laundry bag or hotel property in in !!!

“A really great resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

A voucher through Groupon which was excellent. The room was really great and the welcome pack was a really great deal. The resort was a stones through away from the beach an from what we saw was the nearest to the beach.
The main strip wasn't too close but it a VERY busy during the summer. I recommend these apartments if you want to be somewhere near the beach, somewhere with 2 pools, jacuzzi, sauna, bowling green etc....lots to do and you have access to the other 2 petchy properties.

Room Tip: If you can spend the extra on the 1 bed apt. The studios looked a wee bit small.
