Just come back from a week at these apartments.
Like many me and my family (2 adults & 2 teenagers) got a relatively cheap week away £1k incl flights so did not expect to much.

2 room Apartment was clean if a little dated but more than adequate, however as other have mentioned you could hear a pin drop in the adjioning apartment well almost!
We could hear the dogs barking (apts situated near kennels i believe) but this did'nt really bother us as it was october the nights were chilly so we had the windows closed however in peak season you would need the windows open (no aircon) so this could be factor as wellas the fact that the road outside seems to be used by the locals as a drag strip.
The biggest problem i had with the apartments was the bed, which was the most uncomfortable and hard matress i think i have ever slept on, in fact I never managed a decent nights sleep and was glad to have gone for only a week.

Having said that the apartment was cleaned and new towels supplied on a regular basis, also the grounds and the pool was very clean.
The complex bar served drinks at reasonable prices and also served typical pub food at reasonable prices, not much for the kids to do expect the pool although some entertianment was avialable on a nite in the bar.

There was nothing much in Vale de carros itself apart from a few resturants and bars and to be honest I was a bit dissapointed with the meals after reading the reviews,there is a small well stocked supermarket in the centre however it was expensive when compared to the bigger supermarkets in Alberfieria, however if you are thinking of planning a few trips or hiring a car i would reccomend going to see the girls at pride of place in the centre very helpful.

I would reccomend if you can hiring a car (especially if a family) as the vale de carros is a bit remote and the price of orginisied trips extortionate full price charged for over 12s!

Having been to the algarve before i could not recommend the town of vale de carros to familys as there are many better resorts suited to familys in the algarve, however if you just want a qiuet week or two away and are on a budget then it is perfectly adequate.

I would be perfectly happy to stay at this complex again if the beds were replaced and it was'nt in vale de carros.

Fantastic for a cheap holiday, an altogether great hotel in a good location (so long as you're not afraid of a bit of walking!). Pools are great, having a separate quiet pool, and a larger pool next to the bar. The bar itself is great, cheap drinks (2 euros for a pint of lager), and cheap meals (Full English Breakfast came in useful many times). Balcony for our studio was absolutely massive. Very clean and tidy, but the walls seemed paper thin and we had some inconsiderate noisy neighbours at times. If your neighbour is up at 2am in the morning, it's very likely that you will be woken up too. It's about a 1.5 hour walk (or 10 euro taxi) to the city centre of Albufeira, but there is more or less everything you need in the nearby villages. A nicely-priced supermarket is a few minutes around the corner, which offers Portuguese wine at 1.70 euros per bottle (what more do you need?). There are plenty of restaurants within the local area, and a few bars (including cocktail bar) in the neighbouring village of Olhas De Agua. Lots of people have mentioned noisy dogs in the surrounding area. Although we heard dogs at night, you couldn't hear them with all the doors and windows closed. Overall fantastic place! Would go again!

Decided on a cheap holiday self catering and this one came up for the week 17.10.2011 so went for it. the weather was fab. Hotel was what you pay for as we spent £150 pperson 7 nights. most things were in the room but you had to rent toasters, elec ketle but pots pans etc all there. The room was basic and the real issue everyone had was the hardboard beds with a basic thin matress as they were ok but glad we only had 1 week on them plus they squeaked every time you moved. the 4 appartments in our block were noisy - you could hear every move of furniture even the keys in the locks and shutting doors echoed really loudly - not good. The hotel pools were nice as was the bar and its 20mins from a fab beach and there are 5 / 6 great places to eat which are only about £10 each, drinks are also cheap.

Have recently returned from a weeks holiday at Vale de Carros.
Found the hotel a little dated but never the less the rooms were vey spacious and clean.
The staff were very helpful.
For what we paid this hotel offers excellent value.
