this is our second time staying at the parque monte verde apartments, we enjoyed it so much last year that we decided that if we went back to the algarve this is where we wanted to stay. As with other reviewers some of the people in our party of 5 plus two kids, felt that the beds were hard. Good points, great location away from the town but still with some fantastic restaurants near, yes if you stay here its a good idea to hire a car. the grounds are immaculate and the pool area is never too busy, no problem with sun loungers. This time round there was only us and another family staying at the apartments so most days we had the pool to ourselves. Both Manuel the care taker and Manuel who works at the snack bar are very attentive and good with the kids, they couldnt do enough for us. We requested two cots which were in the room when we arrived. We stayed in one of the two bedroom apartments which has not had its bathroom upgraded, its looking a bit tired but didnt detract from our stay.
if you are looking for reasonably priced, clean, spacious apartments in a quiet location this is the place to stay.

For the second year running the Parque Monte Verde apartments did not disappoint. Yet again Manuel was there to greet us ( and he remembered us from the previous year which was nice). This year we had a one of the one bed apartments as we had tried the two bed last year. We found that the bathroom had recently been fully refitted to quite a high standard, sadly the beds had not! Still hard.....The grounds were meticulously maintained as was the very clean public areas including the pool area. All in all an excellent holiday location and one that we will undoubtedly return to next year.

Have just returned from the parque monte verde apartments after what should have been a nice relaxing week away. everything started out good, the apartments are exceptionally clean and spacious although a car is strongly recommended as it is abit of a walk to the resaurants and shops. There are electric gates at the entrance to the apartments which you need a remote control to open which is given on arrival, I felt encouraged by this as i think to feel secure helps to enjoy the holiday more. However when we woke up on friday morning we discovered that while we were asleep in bed someone had got into our apartment and stole all our cash and my husbands mobile phone. The apartment was locked and there was no sign of forced entry!! Very odd.
What made it worse was that when we contacted the style rep Hayley it took her over 2 hours to arrive and then she was just not interested. I have never felt so scared and sick in my life to think that somebody had access to our apartment when we were asleep and we didn't hear anything. It's a shame because we will never go there again because of this and the resort in itself is really nice, if anybody out there is going just be aware that EVERYTHING needs to be locked away because somebody there is less than honest.

Myself, my wife, and 3 year old daughter have just returned from Parque Monte Verde, and can only echo other reviews.

The bad point is simply the beds. They are very hard, and not particularly comfy for sleeping on.

That is the only complaint. Everything else was excellent.

We were due to arrive at around 11.30pm, and I had e-mailed Miguel at the Parque in advance, to make sure someone would be around to get us access.

I got a prompt e-mail back with the gate code, and the key was under the doormat on arrival.

The apartments are huge, and have everything you would need. Air con and safe are included at no extra cost, (although you are supposed to pay a refundable deposit for the remote for the gate and air con, but we didn't have to (presumably because of our late arrival time, they were already in the room)) and the pool area was lovely and quiet.

Vale de Parra is quite isolated, but I knew that in advance. I personally feel like a hire car is essential, but always book one anyway.

All in all, no complaints at all, particularly for the price. although Thomas Cook are not selling this apartment next year, so visitors would have to book direct.
