Only had a week at this little jem but we would certainly go back again. As others have said you need a car but most packages include one anyway so not a problem. A perfect place as a center for exploring the algarve as it's almost in the middle,not to far from Faro (about 30 minute drive) and easy to find. If you want the nightlife it's only a 10 minute drive to Albufeira.
Fairly early in the season (1st to 8th May 2011) so apart from Albufeira it was as we like our holidays. Fair selection of resteraunts and bars in the three local villages and a beach that streches from Villamoura to Albufeira so if you like to stroll along the beach your not going to run out of room. Apartments are all self catering but to be honest we only ever had breakfast there and ate out every night as the local food is fairly cheap and plentiful. All in all we would recommend this small compex to anyone.

Stayed here 5th Sept 2010 for two weeks. Fabulous pool and facilities, plenty of sunbeds. The apartments are spacious,spottlessly clean, well equipped microwave,fridge freezer, oven,kettle, coffee maker, balcony with furniture and umbrella. We went with Thomsons and the price included a car which you need as it is quite isolated. The nearest beach is Felesia about 3km away and one day walked along the beach to Vilamoura and back about a 2hr walk. The best restaurant in the area is The Van Gogh owned by a dutch lady off the main road to the right has fabulous views over the coast, a little more expensive than the others but better quality. The only negative are the beds which are quite hard but altogether a great place to stay and would recommend it.

We went here in September 09 and we were very pleased with what we found. We booked a studio and found we had plenty of space with a patio area overlooking the garden. The whole area was kept spotlessly clean and it was a pleasure to stay there. The hire car is a necessity and means you can explore further inland which was great to get away from the crowds. The main pool was lovely and frefreshing on a hot day. I would definitely go again but i would make sure that first choice actually did give us directions at the airport as it is difficult to find.

Just got back from our second visit to Flor Da Laranja in 11 months.

This place is quiet and you do need a car. There are two swimming pools, one is quite small. For some of the time each day, we had the main pool to ourselves until about 4pm, this is when the Portuguese families came back from the beach and seem to take over the pool. No problems with getting a sunbed.

We stayed in Apartment A3 as it was recommended by others on this site and it was great. It had 2 balconies – one balcony had the sun all morning and the other in the sun all afternoon/evening. It was a one bedroom apartment.

The furniture in the rooms is old and dated but we don’t go to sit in a living room, we go for the sun.

The bathroom has a shower head that comes off the wall so the misses can wash her hair easily.

As others have said you do need a car as it is a little out of the way, but that what we like.

Adalberto is the owner and is only too happy to help where possible although he does not speak much English. He lives on site and is around should you ever get any problems.

There are 4 Barbecue areas now where you can eat al fresco if you want.

Toilet rolls are not supplied although you will get one in the bathroom when you arrive.

There are 2 local supermarkets fairly local but certainly not within walking distance that sell all the provisions that you will ever need although the bigger cheaper supermarket is in Albufeira.

We will go back as it was a great relaxing place.
